A 91-year-old woman, Mrs Roseline Ololo, on Thursday led a protest to the Lagos State House of Assembly, demanding the return of her schools taken over by the military regime in 1976.

Ololo, who was on a wheelchair, pleaded with the legislators to intervene and facilitate the return of her schools.
She said that the schools, Metropolitan College and Isolo Secondary School, were taken over while Commodore Ndubisi Kanu was the Military Administrator of the state.

Ololo said she lost her husband, Chief Michael Ololo-Ogwu, in the struggle to regain ownership of the schools they both established in 1956 in Surulere area of the state.
She was accompanied by some protesting youths who chanted songs and carried placards with various inscriptions such as "it's our right to own properties’’ and "Hon. Speaker, speak the truth."
Some of the posters also read laws are passed for the good of citizens,’’ Justice for Mama Ololo,’’ `Hon. Speaker, please intervene,’’ and "Stop this injustice," among others.
Ololo told the members on hand that the return of the schools had already been approved by the administration of Chief Bola Tinubu, a former governor of the state.
"He has given orders that all private schools should be returned to their owners but they have not returned mine after several efforts.
"We have been going up and down,‎ my husband died in the course of seeking the return of the schools we both struggled to establish, she said.
According to her, the government has been calling them for talks but nothing has been done.
Responding, Obasa, who was represented by Mr Mojeed Fatai(APC- Ibeju Lekki I), promised that the House would look into the matter.

It is so unfair to her as many private owners got their schools back during Tinubu's tenure.
