While it never occurred to most ladies that they could bank on their virginity, there are some women who’ve found a way to monetize their purity.

In the last couple of years, we’ve heard stories of more than a few women who’ve profited from auctioning off their virginity to the highest bidder, whether it was to fund a college education or just to make a quick buck, or lots of bucks.

Rosie Reid – $13,300
Rosie Reid, an 18-year-old lesbian from the UK, decided to sell her first sexual experience for $13,300 to attend Bristol University. The buyer? After 2,000 bids, a 44-year-old engineer and divorced father of two won the coveted prize. Rosie regrets the decision. After the act took place her and Jess Cameron “cried and cried.” A cautionary tale. Once virginity is sold, it cannot be returned.

Alina Percea – $13,497.88
Eighteen-year-old Romanian teenager, Alina Percea, auctioned off her virginity in order to afford a computing degree. A 45-year-old Italian businessman coughed up $14,000 to deflower Alina and she claimed to have enjoyed the experience.

Cathy Cobblerson – $100,000
In 2004, 24-year-old Cathy Cobblerson from Texas placed her virginity on auction records when she placed the ad for $100,000 on eBay. The auction was taken down and it was not clear whether or not another auction from the same girl took place elsewhere.

“Ungirl” – $250,000
