The River State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah has again said that the confirmation of Hon Rotimi Amaechi as minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is a an approval of corruption.

Obuah in a statement signed by by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, said that the intrigues surrounding the ministerial screening of former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and his eventual confirmation for appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the All Progressives Congress, APC dominated Senate is an official endorsement of corruption and gross abuse of democracy.

This is the view of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in reaction to the nod given to president Buhari’s choice of Amaechi as one of his Ministers despite the monumental allegations of fraud, looting of State treasury and unprecedented abuse of trust while he held sway as Governor of the State for eight wasted years, as contained in the Justice George Omereji led – Judicial Commission of inquiry and the Rivers State Government white paper which indicted Amaechi.

Bro Felix Obuah said for throwing the most revered rules of the Senate and the sanctity of the laws of the land to the winds for the singular reason to compensate an indicted party member does not only amount to fait accompli but also exposes the hypocrisy of the APC-led federal government that anchored its campaign slogan on anti-corruption crusade.

The State PDP Chairman who expressed shock that the APC Senates could descend so low as to fling away the report of the ethics and privileges committee just to have their way without minding the feelings of the people they are representing amount to formal approval of corruption.

He however, commended the courage of the PDP Senators for staging a walk-out, which is a historic statement that they were not and could not be part of the institutionalization of corruption in Nigeria and the legalization of criminality and scarification of integrity on the altar of loyalty.

Bro Obuah remarked for the umptieth time that Amaechi is only representing the interests of his benefactors and definitely not Rivers people as the State prefers to suffer persecution for standing on the side of truth and what is right to being eulogized and pampered as a chief servant in a slave house.

“While we look to the end of the APC-led federal government which has started on precarious feet of falsehood and deceit, we can only say that the end can never contradict its means which in this case, is suspect.

Our regret is the APC’s disservice and disappointment to the entire Nigerians whose hope of getting a better alternative government from the Buhari administration and 8th Senate has been dashed.

It’s an illusion to think that Amaechi and his like as ministers would perform anything different from what they did while they served in all other capacities”, the State PDP boss declared.

To the Post and the writer above me.

You guys are a Joke.

When PDP was advised to re-brand, accusing others of being corrupt was not part of the re-branding package. It is talks like this, that makes people not take the PDP serious.

How can a Political party that took corruption, looting, waywardness, impunity and chronic kleptomaniac-ism to a record level, now turn back and start telling others they are bad?

When the PDP, show any sign of seriousness, we will take them serious.

But for now, they are a Joke.

The way APC package corruption makes one to wonder whether there is a deliberate plan by APC to punish Nigerians. Nigerians need to hold on to God. We are in trying times

A little corruption in the system is good for the economy. Too much of everything is bad. You don't surround yourself only with morally upright persons; there are times when loyalty and commitment trumps all else. It is for such moments that Amaechi comes in handy (this is assuming that you think him as corrupt). The issue with the PDP was, corruption became commonplace during that GEJ regime.

PDP itself is corruption personified; PDP is the human organisation personification of the word 'corruption.' Contrary to the appointment and confirmation of Amaechi, the real action (or rather, inaction) of the present government which is a 'formal approval of corruption' is letting the members of the PDP to still be roaming freely on our streets. All those PDPians need to be locked up and the keys discarded for keeping Nigeria in bondage for 16 years. This is the only area where I am really disappointed with Buhari.

Pdp have no moral justification to speak or stand against against the confirmation of Amaechi. were they blind when obanikoro was nominated?
Mr Akpabio, a corrupt majority leader who is currently facing charges with Efcc has no moral justification to even open his mouth. Joshua Dariye was also arrested for money laundering, removed from office as governor for six months and a state of emergency was declared in his state. I don't need to introduce Theodore Orji, who squandered about 474billion with his family now talking about corruption.
Also Stella Oduah, who bought two BMW for about 240million naira, was removed as later removed a as minister shouldn't say anything. Eyinnaya Abaribe was Impeached as deputy governor for corruption. We all know Buruji Kashamu, he suppose to be cooling off in jail right now. If not because Nigeria doesn't have a viable legal institution, these thieves suppose to be chilling inside prison right now,

APC zombies will say no proof of corruption for Amaechi, yet their leaders never convicted, pick up or even show proof of the past administrations gross misconduct.
Yet 1/3 of a monorail that trillions were spent on is sitting like a pink elephant in middle of room, and they still shout no proof.
Billions spent on schools that are models but no child dey enter em.
Millions spent on bus terminals now used by criminals to hang about.
Like one poster mention 95% of Nigerians lack discernment, intelligence and wisdom. cry
