carnegiefan:This is the simple truth, they do not like us, and we do not like them either. If the UN won't get involved, then we may as well get into a brief war which will force the hands of world leaders. I do not wish that people die, but Biafra must come, now more than ever. 5 Likes |

fr3do:Any country can choose to place economic sanction on Nigeria depending on the country's existing relationship with Nigeria at that time and their interest in the matter under consideration. U don't expect Britain and their allies to just start placing Economic sanctions on Nigeria when their companies are operating in Nigeria. Note the following US and their allies interest in Nigeria in the Oil sector only; SHELL( English-Dutch with very high US Holding in shares), Total (French company), Elf (French company), Chevron ( US company), ExxonMobil (US company) these companies rank in the first five highest oil MNC in the world and are all into oil exploration in the downstream sector. I need not stress how much revenue that these companies contribute to their home countries and how far they go in supporting the ruling government in their country and u think these greedy first world countries will just damm their own interest to place serious embergo on Nigeria, no way. On the other hand if they see that they will do better by supporting Biafra I.e that their stake will go higher and they will gain more they may support Biafra but not without negotiating what is in it for them and their allies |

kernel501:The big powers knows only their interest only and nothing more. like I argued before only if they see what they will benefit more from Biafra that their relationship with Nigeria have not offered them. For me China can easily support Biafra and the same goes for Russia with their new posture in international affairs. Saudi Arabia is under US manipulation and they will do US bidding but I don't know yet how US and their allies can forgo their interest in Nigeria. If the Niger Deltans(SS) willingly come into Biafra as I know that there is a likelihood, then Biafra must convince these big MNC oil companies to convince their home countries to support the Biafra course that their interest will be highly protected under the Biafra state and even woe them to establish a military base in Biafra and of course secret deals will be signed. without taking care of these big power interests the achievement of Biafra will remain a mirage |

McTobe: YEA... NOW YOU ARE GETTING ME, ONCE BIAFRA CAN ASSURE ONE OR TWO TOP GUNS OF THERE INTEREST, NIGERIA IS GONE. RUSSIA IS A BETTER BET LIKE YOU SAID, NIGER DELTA AND BIAFRA WILL RATHER PAY TO RUSSIA OR CHINA AND MOVE FORWARD INSTEAD OF STAYING IN UNMOVING ENCLAVE IN THE NAME OF MOST POPULUOS BLACK NATION. 3 Likes |

kernel501:Nigeria have all it takes TP reject that ICJ ruling and stand their ground without little or no sanctions. Sanction from who, France? the truth of the matter is like I said before Nigeria is not as aggressive as they should be in foreign policy. we are just too lame and dull and acts before thinking. ordinarily Nigeria would have refused to go to ICJ no body would have forced them to go. look at Liberia and Siere Leone what is Nigeria's interest in taking the leading role they took in quenching the crisis there with all our human and material lost there. I have never seen a country so lame in foreign policy. IRAQ's case is different altogether the matter being NUCLEAR related issue that threatens the whole world |

AyakaDunukofia: The cases of Bashir, Slobodan Milosevich and Chares taylor boils down to criminal cases of genocide and not a constitutional matter. UN does not have ANY power to direct any country to hold referendum. It can only happen if the world powers have interest in the matter and they can use economic blockade and sanctions to force such country to hold referendum or outrightly use the Russian Method. The first method usually lead to long protracted war, as seen in the case of Eritrea, South Sudan, East Timor, Kosovo, dissolution of Yugoslavia etc. The case of Southern Cameroon is also different. They were a German colony befor world war 2 and based on versailles treaty, where other world powers took over the colonies of Germany, the then cameroon was divided between France and Britain. The Southern Cameroon came under Britain. Rhodesia was also annexed by the British from the Germans. When they wanted to merge Cameroon back, it was left for the people to decide for themselves. While Southern Cameroon voted for the Old Cameroon. some northern part of the old Cameroon voted to be part of Nigeria. hence, Adamawa found itself being part of Nigeria. That was the reason while one of the kings that represented Adamawa at the last national confab was requesting for the return back of their state to the old cameroon. As you can see, their case was a special case. |

kernel501: There is no world power that can support secession openly because they also have secessionist cry in their backyards too that they are grappling with. In US, the Sourthern States want to pull out of the Union, In RUssia, you have Chenchya, in China you have Tibet and Taiwan and even hong Kong; in Britain, we had Scotland; in canada you have Quebec; in Spain you have the Basque Region and the Catalonia. Which one of them will support secession without fueling hat they are contending with at home? The road to secession is simple but tortuous and calls for intellectual argument rather than show of brawn that will never lead to any where. |

McTobe: THEY CAN FORCE UN MEMBERS TO SHUN NIGERIAN OIL AND ANY COUNTRY STRONG ENOUGH TO WAVE THE SANCTION WILL BID A BARREL BELOW $20 KNOWING FULLY WELL THAT PRO AMERICAN STATES WON'T BUY. REMEMBER 80% OF OUR REVENUE COMES FROM OIL. FORCE INTERNATIONAL BANKS AGAINST DOING BUSINESS WITH NIGERIAN BANKS, THAT ALONE WILL BRING OUR ECONOMY TO HER KNEELS. 1 Like |

kernel501:I have never subscribed to the idea of the so called most populous black nation. The state is a means to an end not an end on itself. the state is a means to the happiness of the greater number of its citizens which is why the state exist. To satisfy the human beings it can call its citizens, once the state fail to satisfy that fundamental objective of its being I believe the people have the right to question its continuous existence. Whether they can overthrow the institution of the state is another matter of its own. But like always I am against any use of violence to achieve any objective. I can only employ violence to defend myself when attacked with violence and I see that there is no other means for defence of my person. |

kernel501: All these are your wishful thinking that can NEVER happen because you are a product of the British and the British will never agree that they made a mistake by creating this contraption. Your Biafra does not have any bargaining chips with any world power than Britain, so your proposition is dead on arrival with them. I repeat the road to secession is extremely simple but calls for high level international and local diplomacy, doggedness and intellectual argument. |

kernel501: The truth is, there won't even be any support AT ALL (from any world power). Don't you understand? Or else the whole of Nigeria decides to go through that route of dissolution willingly. |

kernel501: You are very funny. Is the station committing treasonable felony offence against Britain or Nigeria? The location of the station is immaterial, it is the message of the station that is pertinent. What is the bargaining chips Biafra has with the world powers? None. What is the bargaining chips Niger Delta has with world powers? None. Virtually all the major of powers are oil producers apart from the Chinese that will rather buy from Iran and Russia, which are her natural allies. |

kernel501: That is what I am telling you. Oil is not what you can use to entice majority of the world powers. If you have Uranium now, they will be courting you. Probably Gas, but Russia has enough to supply the whole of Europe and China and America has enough from. Natural to biological gas. |

Superstar1, the bargaining power of biafra is immigration control, I listened to nnamdi kanu said that biafra would take refugees back to africa he also opined that, indigenous people of africa should be allowed to be on their own, form country of their own, on their own conditions... he was telling a particular journalists that the reason why european countries will continue to have immigrants is because the country like biafra is still being suppressed!!! 2 Likes |
