YOU ARE NOT A WITCH

What is it with Africa and the witch phenomena? So many families are destroyed and homes torn apart by that age old accusation – the historic stigma – you are a witch!

It’s not an isolated incident either. We are fond of believing babalawos rather than our own flesh and blood. The accused is then thrown out of the house, abandoned by the community - a social outcast – a convenient scapegoat for the woes of that village, an object of degradation, an excuse to display such basic instincts as humiliation, bullying and superstition. Whether or not they are a witch – who can tell? Really. I mean, but there is one man who seems to be able to tell. His name is TB Joshua. If you go to his church in Ikotun Egbe, Lagos, Nigeria – he will tell you and not only you but the whole world the truth – the truth as he’s heard it from God.  If you watch his live services, you will see there are often huge reconciliation cases as accused family members are reunited with their families. One such case that really touched me – happened in the last few weeks, when a young girl ran screaming from the congregation to beg the man of God to deliver her. Unmoved by her sobbing plea for him to deliver her, and her confession that she was a witch – the man of God told her that she was not a witch – she then later confessed that her father had told her that if she didn’t come out for deliverance during the live service, she was not coming home. T.B Joshua asked her to bring the entire family next Sunday. Sure enough they all turned up from Kano – the father, seven children and standing separately - the mother - the cause of the problem as she had been labelled a witch for the past 5 years.

After listening to the husband who accused his wife of being a witch after a dream he had 5 years ago and then had it 'confirmed' in various churches and shrines, each child publicly renounced their mother – calling her a witch. They declared that they had brought her here so she could be delivered, adding that they had seen on Emmanuel TV where TB Joshua prayed for witches and the evil spirits were cast out.

At this point, Mrs Comfort herself said, sobbing that she was not a witch, that she had been rejected by her family, thrown out of her home, hated by her children, kicked out of her church, physically beaten and forced to sleep on top of her dead mother’s grave as she was accused of killing her.  Humanly speaking - there was no doubt - it seemed that she was a witch.

But what did God say? - On hearing from God, T.B. Joshua declared to the world that Mrs. Comfort Udeh was not a witch at all. Shock! Her families' conviction had been turned upside down. After a public reconciliation in the church, TB Joshua then gave the family 50,000 naira to travel back to Benin, Edo state to Mrs Comfort’s family to reconcile with them, before coming back to the church for more counselling on how to restore their broken family before heading back to Kano to start life afresh with the gift of 150,000 naira.

Don’t know about you – but this ministry of reconciliation is sorely needed. We need the truth.
Satan is a liar.

Religious and Spiritual heads have made religion so deceptive that it has done more harm than good to many individual and family.

you're right about that - 'pastors' have been accused of worsening the problem - we need people that can speak the truth. Abuse that these superstitious lies cause is raising serious global concern - check out this article on cnn - 'Abuse Of Chjild Witches on the rise.'  http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/africa/05/18/nigeria.child.witchcraft/index.html

Instead of criticizing our sick society - let us do what is good to change the bad we see,

In fact, it is matter of big concern in African society to see so many families being destroyed by accussations of being a witch. I was so relieved when I discovered Emmanuel TV and saw that T.B. Joshua reconciles the torn-apart families. As we all know, the basis of any healthy and prospering society is good and healthy families. It is important to find out the truth and the truth shall set you free. Do not just sit somewhere, listen to this and that, and come to a hasty conclusion. This ministry of reconciliation is not very common. Kudos to T.B. Joshua for allowing God to use him to reconcile so many broken homes.
