KOGI ELECTION: A LITMUS TEST OF POLITICAL TOLERANCE FOR BUHARI AND APC

As Kogites move to the polls tomorrow to elect their choice of leader for another four years, we implore them to eschew violence and embrace peace.

They should all know that politicians are not worth dying for and after tomorrow Kogi State will not cease to be in existence.

However, to Mr New Sheriff and his party, tomorrow poll will be their maiden election as a national ruling party. They should know that the whole international communities are watching to know where they stand. Tomorrow election is so unique that a new government with a new helmsman in INEC will be testing their sincerity on our developing democracy.

In fact, it is time for them to prove to us that all allegations levelled against them are untrue. From refusal of bail out fund that CBN is yet to clear the air to TSA diversion and INEC collusion with security apparatus.

We believed history will not forget immediate past President who allowed institutions to work without interference, even when tough. Even when his party won in Ekiti they tagged it rigging with all kinds of audio tapes that they could not present before any court of law but only placed in the court of public opinion. But when they won in Osun it was democracy.

Our stand is that posterity will judge everyone in our political landscape. Be it APC or PDP, no party deserves your blood.

Kogites, please go out in peace and perform your civic role.
