I am not much of an expert in english language but I have noticed in the cause of my conversing, reading dailies and listening to presenters that the most wrongly used english word in Nigeria is "bogus". Bogus according to oxford dictionaries means "not genuine or true", I.e, a bogus deal, bogus insurance claim e.t.c.
Unfortunately, people have changed the meaning to something that is very big or too much. I just finished watching one of the national television morning talk show and a renowned presenter misused the word too by asking his guest if he thinks the 18,000 naira minimum wage is bogus.
Which other english word do you think is more misused than this?
