And less than 50% understand Igbo grin grin grin

I see the pride you have in the extinction of your language.

Come to Igboland and listen, and good luck to you if you pretend to understand Igbo because they won't speak English to you until they figure out you don't understand Igbo.

English speaking Nollywood is like 20% Igbo. That's why you guys know all these little words. Nollywood is like a Trojan horse for the Igbo language. Ask Kenyans.

Why yoruba language dominates 95% of the music industry. Ask Africa and the world.

You won't believe it but Youth corpers from other parts of the country struggle to teach in most secondary schools in Yorubaland because of the inability of the students to understand english language.

Now add millions of touts that didn't go to school, then you'll get the sense of how grave the situation is in Yorubaland.

As long as they understand Yoruba.

Even with your Aba-made stats and your shameless appraisal of another man's language, Yoruba will continue to spread. It is global!

Same way nigerian mordern songs are 20% yoruba.

Language rep between Igbo and Yoruba in the music industry is probably equal now, just depending on where you stay.

Got more?

So it's your high literacy in igboland that you're using to push drugs to Indonesia? cheesy

If high illiteracy equals reviving Yoruba and spreading it globally, I say welcome!

At least they are not vagabonds in another man's land., like some clowns from the gully eroded part of east of the niger.

They have turned miscreants and urchins in their father's land

It's better to be a vagabond in faraway land than in your own land

What a shame

Don't even venture into Nollywood, 'cus ndị Igbo have the best of both worlds when it comes to that. We control the English side of Nollywood, which by the way is spiced up with a heavy dose of Igbo, and we've recently resurrected our Igbo movies, and they are doing so well now. Go to YouTube to feed your eyes.

MegaMan1987:

Who watched them? You Igbos prefer English Nollywood. You don't respect your own language. Us Yoruba have our own movie industry with our own language. It might not be as big as ENGLISH SPEAKING Nollywood but it's still our own and we support it. Igbo language speaking movies? Please

I'm okay with this sentiment, but there is nothing supporting indigenous languages currently that would warrant the removal of English right now. I mean, there are no indigenous language schools or universities. English is still the medium of education, and without you may be lost.
