It's simply a day where retail stores make the most profit, there by making their accounts "black " which anyone who knows accounting knows it means there is lots of money in the account. Red account simply means a poor account.

True talk. I confirmed it this morning. online they slashed the price of Samsung grand prime to 37,100 while in stores the price is around 33k.

Haha. Actually the history is very mundane. Companies make more sales during the holiday periods (from after thanksgiving all the way to Christmas eve) and thus their financial standings are " in the black" or profitable, rather than being "in the red", or a loss. The huge sales come from reduced prices.

Thus, Black Friday arose from an accounting idiom for when many companies make brisk sales.
