The naira on Friday depreciated at the parallel market barely 48 hours after it strengthened against the dollar. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the naira lost N2 to exchange at N242 to the dollar, as against its previous value of N240. Meanwhile, the official inter-bank rate remained at N197 to the dollar. Traders at the market said that in spite of the biweekly sale of forex to Bureaux de Change (BDC’s), the currency of the biggest economy in Africa continued to slide. They attributed the development to the difficulty encountered by some BDC operators in disposing their forex due to the apex banks regulation on forex sales. http://thenationonlineng.net/naira-depreciates-at-parallel-market-2/ 1 Share

Where there is no clear policy direction, the economy becomes erratic and unpredictable. The unfortunate part is that the supposed technocrats within the finance ministry seem clueless on how to salvage the situation. They've tightened everything to be tightened in that sector but its obvious they've diagnosed wrongly because its headed downhill so far. But most unfortunately, Buhari does not care. His trips are more important. 41 Likes 2 Shares |

We just have to prepare for the worst... I wouldn't want to blame this administration completely.... The avalanche of what is happening had been snowballing from previous administration. Nigeria will be great one day but we have to pass through the fire of reality. Our Major challenges still remains ethnic and religious difference which fuel and protect corruption . At times because I am aware of the reality coming ahead and not fooling myself, I wish I was born 2 generation after this 4 Likes |

Barely 48 hours? Chaiii It has been unlimited bad news since that old body odour impotent of a president came on board. It's obvious, that good news is nowhere near this administration. I know the zombies and the lamenting lamenters will still come and blame GEJ. Useless goats. If you quote me wrongly by mistake, you will die by correction. Foolsssssssssss 18 Likes 2 Shares |

Its high time the government and policy makers put aside politics and see to the strengthening of our exchange rate. The dollar for instance is used as vehicle currency as well as an intervention currency as whatever happens to it do have a significant effect on the economy. Thus, the CBN and the government should pay more attention to what happens to it and not politicize it. 2 Likes |
