You're right about acculturation but am laying more emphasis on god concepts that different cultures breeds. Allowing foreign culture to totally acculturate ones own and replacing it with foreign one altogether is mutually exclusive.

Christianity started from a culture like that of yorubas, and grow to immense prominence and overwhelmed other ones. Greater number of other cultures came with its god concept. So as you said that it is a matter of choice, Christians should keep their religion to themselves until one picks interest instead of disturbing and threatening others to believe.

Not even Jesus Christ disturbed and threatened anyone to believe in Him. No Christian who talks to others like Jesus said to do will do so.
