Only if you are saying it's an experience of being error ridden and fumbling of the highest order.

Are we talking about the same player. I mean the one that fumbled at Milan,Dortmund,Arsenal and somehow got a german shirt ahead of Oliver Kahn.

Lehmann is still a world better than any keeper in post for Milan in the last 20 years

Have you forgotten Dida's blunder at Elland Road in 2000/2001 season? Legendary

That Leeds team was a joy to watch, and quite a shame how things turned out for them in subsequent years.

Barca to offer Messi new deal

Barcelona are working on a new contract for star man Lionel Messi, according to reports in Spain and Italy.

Both El Mundo Deportivo and Gazzetta dello Sport have suggested the Catalan club are to offer the 22-year-old €9.5m per year in an attempt to secure his long-term future.

Barca are also keen to raise the buyout figure in Messi's deal, which currently stands at €150m, to €300m.

Let's face it, which club go pay that kind of money? RM? undecided

The buyout clause is what I feel UEFA needs to tackle to peg the transfer fees that seem to be spiraling.
When a player has a buyout clause of 300m, then it looks cheap when you buy him for 100m

Arsene Wenger Terminates Interest In Bordeaux Striker Marouane Chamakh

Arsenal's chase of Girondins de Bordeaux's goal-threat Marouane Chamakh appears to have today been halted, as Arsene Wenger, the club's astute boss, refuses to meet the Ligue 1 side's valuation of the player as he could snare him away from the south-west French side for far cheaper in January as the Moroccan will only have six months left on his contract to run.

Sky Sports News quoted Wenger as saying, "In five months Chamakh will be free to talk to other clubs and Bordeaux will be in danger of not getting anything. It is over. It is terminated."

The former Grampus Eight manager then added that he was in no urgency to recruit a replacement for spearheading striker Emmanuel Adebayor, as he still has Nicklas Bendtner, Robin van Persie, Eduardo da Silva, Carlos Vela, and Theo Walcott, who can all perform well in the final third.

"He [Chamakh] is a forward that attracts me, but we have other options [in the squad]. The offer seems fair to me, yet there are other options we can turn to [in terms of recruitment]," he concluded.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Brede Hangeland and Neven Subotic, while The Guardian stated that Philippe Senderos had been sold to Everton last night.

Arsene Wengay is just a funny guy.

If Chamakh is good enough does he think he would be the only team bidding for him in January?

Thats where this guy refuses to use his senses.

Tie the buyout clause to the length of the contract and the players salary, and make it more deterministic across europe. It can then be used as an indirect transfer cap (since you wont buy a player above his buyout value) and force clubs to put their money where their mouth his.

LIVERPOOL AGREE FEE WITH REAL MADRID FOR SALE OF XABI ALONSO. . . . .

Alonso to have a medical at Madrid tomorrow.

Liverpool have this afternoon confirmed that they have reached agreement with Real Madrid over a deal to take Xabi Alonso from Anfield to the Spanish giants.

The player will now move to Los Merengues as soon as he successfully completes a medical.

A statement on the Reds' official website reads:

"Liverpool Football Club this evening confirmed they had reached agreement for the sale of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid, subject only to a medical.

"The terms of the deal will remain confidential and undisclosed."

Although no fee has been disclosed, several sources, amongst them high-profile Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, believe that the fee will be something in the region of £30 million, the figure which Liverpool were reportedly holding out for.

Yea right undecided and that is why your management are like some jilted girl friend who cant stop talking about us.
The players want to play for Madrid and the clubs want a piece of our money.
Even your bayern were willing to sell, we were the ones who broke it off, cos your tin god ribery wasnt worth what you think he was.

Official: Liverpool Agree Fee With Roma For Alberto Aquilani

Liverpool have today officially confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Roma for the sale of midfielder Alberto Aquilani to the Reds.

Manager Rafa Benitez was pleased that the player could soon be on his way to Anfield, telling the club's official website, "Alberto is a very good player and I'm delighted we've reached agreement with Roma for his transfer.

"He will travel to Merseyside later this week for a medical. Alberto has a winning mentality and great experience in both Serie A and the Champions League.

"He has long been recognised as a top class talent in Italy, captaining his country at both Under 19 and Under 21 levels before establishing himself in the senior national side."

A source close to the Merseysiders revealed to Goal.com's Mohammed Bhana that the fee will be £20 million, as well as confirming that negotiations for the player had been ongoing whilst the Reds negotiating the deal to take Xabi Alonso from Anfield to Real Madrid.

"Liverpool were working on the deal at the same time as they were working on the Alonso deal," the source explained.

"The club are confident they have signed an established player with plenty of experience."

Where this leaves the potential deal for Juventus' Danish international Christian Poulsen, heavily linked with the Reds yesterday, remains to be seen.

This rivals the Ibra deal as the worst deal of the summer.
£20 million for someone still showing potential at 25yrs and so injury probe that he played just 20 games last season, and has averaged less than 25 in recent years, is stupidity.
I guess they needed to replace kewell undecided
