ok good... the woman knows her job.... there is no way she can be blamed if the fund meant for security ended up being misused... Security is not her job but giving money to them is.... the earlier they understand this, the better... 5 Likes |

blazetitov:And who said it wasn't budgeted for? Read her comment again. The money was already approved for but the problem is where to get the money ASAP. The NSA already had money budgeted for the military purchases but they needed money urgently thus was borrowed some of Abacha's Loot after which the money will be returned when their statutory allocation arrives. 7 Likes |

We the wise ones know that all these allegations are devised to distract us from the obvious lack of focus and direction of our present govt. APC focus on the task ahead, you cannot trap an honest person, this is a futile attempt. 1 Like |

Simple question.... Madam Economists...do you have constitutional power to divert, spend or transfer such fund without legislative approval If No....then you will be prosecuted! 10 Likes 4 Shares |

Aboki, go and ask ur rep. in national assembly, d president has a constitutional power to spend monies on security from certain coffers without recourse to the national assembly. But is expected to notify the assembly of such expense. 1 Like |

Abeg Junketeer in chief should show us where the LNG tax money is and all the monies returned to his government since he came in. No fuel, NNPC is clueless on how to resolve it, no security no light no hope. INEC has been destroyed, no probity all we see is a do or die atitude from APC politicians to take over the political structure in Nigeria. Killers of social media, APC is also a promoter of unrest across the country. Shameless bunch. 5 Likes 1 Share |

But why was the money given to the NSA? Is it the Defence ministry? Does it have the powers of appropriation? That's besides the fact that its an extra budgetary spending that needed to be ratified by the national assembly! 4 Likes |

adioolayi:The Legislature has approved the NSA budget for the year. The statutory funds hasn't arrived thus the NSA was LOANED the money from Abacha's Loot after which the loan will be repaid once the statutory allocation arrives. |

Almost everybody is labelling Okonjo as 'intelligent'... I wonder what their definition of intelligence is... Maybe it means 'coming out "clean" after doing dirty tricks with the nation's money' 9 Likes 3 Shares |

Promhize: And you failed to see or read "approved" in the statement.... who approved it and who appropriated it? How president and she and the NSA can't do that alone. So she's tied there. NB: you can prove me wrong tho 3 Likes |

All these people cheering NOI's response, do they know she has just said the exact same thing her accusers accused her of ? She jointly agreed to make this money available to the NSA without going to the National Assembly as they should have done, in breach of our laid down laws and processes. She's even digging deeper into the hole. And taking GEJ down with her 11 Likes 2 Shares |

An important issue has not been addressed by that response: Was the Funds budgeted for or was it extra-budgetary expenditure? If there was genuine need to use the funds, why not approach the National Assembly to inform them that there has been an inflow of funds and that they should approve for it to be used to combat terrorism. I am seriously beginning to think NOI was indeed complicit in most of the corrupt transaction that happened during the last administration. 11 Likes 4 Shares |

I can't get it! what is happening everyday one wakes up with Money missing and misapplied, can't the gov't talk about it's policy and areas they intend to work on as the economy is going down everyday? What has become of us lately everything is on standstill without efforts to do the needful. This is really pathetic! |
