Bob Izua (a Benin High Chief) Has Been Kidnapped! by GoldCircle: 7:45am On Jun 07, 2009
A friend called to tell me this yesterday, but I found it hard to believe. Now thisdayonline has just confirmed it! Na wa oh!

The Ahionba of Benin kingdom, Chief John Osemede Adun, has been kidnapped by gunmen who invaded his house in Benin late Friday night.
Adun, who is also the Managing Director of Bob Izua Transport Company Nigeria was reportedly abducted at about 9:00pm Friday night at his residence on Eheenede Street, off the popular Oba market road in the ancient capital city.
Sources close to the family disclosed that about 18 armed men in military uniform stormed the imposing residential complex. The kidnappers came in an 18-seater bus in a commando style and whisked Adun away. The operation looked like he was being formally arrested by security agencies.
It was also gathered that one of the chief’s aides whose name could not be ascertained as at press time was shot in the process as he attempted to protest the kidnap of his boss. The aide is presently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital
The kidnap incident occurred less than a week after the mobile police men guarding the house were withdrawn, raising the suspicion that powerful forces may have been behind the chief’s ordeal.
Another close aide to the abducted chief told our reporter that no contact had been established between the kidnappers and the family since the man was kidnapped by the gunmen, a development which has heightened fears about the state of the victim’s health.
In his reaction to the kidnap of Adun, the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Peter Ogboi, said the matter was reported at the Oba Market Police Station.
He confirmed that the kidnappers wore military uniforms and that the abducted chief was kidnapped at his Guests’ House located off Oba Market Road, Benin-City.
According to information lodged at the police station, the kidnappers who came in an 18 seater Toyota Hiace bus were also numbering eighteen.
About ten highly placed individuals have so far lost their lives in the hands of kidnappers who have been terrorising residents of the state. Several others have parted with millions of naira paid as ransom to secure the release of kidnapped persons.
In a response to the menace constituted by the kidnappers, Edo State Government recently awarded N2 million prize for anybody who would volunteer information on the hideout of kidnappers while the government is planning to set up a joint security taskforce to deal with the situation.
Last Friday, an eight-member armed gang including two ladies reportedly kidnapped an oil magnate and billionaire, Chief Paul Okonkwo, otherwise known as Pokobros Nigeria Limited. Okonkwo who had just returned from a trip abroad was abducted at about 7.00pm in his green colour SUV jeep around Nnamdi Azikwe University junction in Awka, Anambra State.
The gang, believed to have trailed Okonkwo from his Tourist Garden Hotels, reports said, shot one of the wives of the victim who was with him at the time of the incident.
Earlier, about four days before the kidnap of Okonkwo, the wife of another businessman and former governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in the state, Chief Ifeanyichukwu Nwokoye was kidnapped. The woman who is said to be heavily pregnant is yet to be released by her captors even though, no ransom has been demanded.

As as bad as this kidnapping thing may be viewed, this particular case is funny, because Bob Izua is a thug himself. He thinks he is one of the untouchables in Benin. He's not going to get any sympathy from me.

This is funny on so many levels. grin

Bob Izua is only play games with the minds of Edo people. He knows what he is doing.
It is alleged that he had already sent out his BOYS on a mission before declaring his kipnap.
Member(s) of Task force/board of Environment in charge of clearance of nuisance from the street of Benin are in the Hospital now as we speak from gun shots from assassination attacks from Bob`s BOYS.
The PDP and the royal palace made him an untouchable, now he is on a rampage.
Re: Bob Izua (a Benin High Chief) Has Been Kidnapped! by jazzsoul: 7:00pm On Jun 07, 2009
Why were mobile policemen guarding the house of a thug instead of protecting innocent helpless people. He probably staged the kidnapping in order to get back his withdrawn mobile police protection. Who does he need protection from? This thug will traumatize people but needs public protection at the expense of the public.

I hope his captors are giving him the type of treatment he has given to his victims.

"The kidnapped Benin High Chief and a popular transporter, Chief Osamede Adun, the Ayobahan of Benin Kingdom aka Bob Izua, has regained freedom after allegedly parting with N20m ransom.

Details of how he was released was still sketchy as at press time but family sources told The Nation that the Benin Chief was released at about 2am Sunday morning. The source refused to disclose the place and how the transaction was done."

We hope Pokobros & Mrs Nwokoye who have also been kidnapped in Anambra will also be released shortly.

Re: Bob Izua (a Benin High Chief) Has Been Kidnapped! by dnex(m): 1:33pm On Jun 11, 2009
@mafioso

Please just tell me the general direction in which to cast that stone and I tell you, in two weeks Benin people would not have finished casting the last stone at Bob Izua.

This John Osamede Adun fellow who really is the thug properly known as Bob Izu is one of the masterminds of all the various kidnappings that have been carried out in Benin. Whether the man staged his own personal kidnap or not is immaterial because another whole can of worms has just been opened.

If really he was kidnapped, then his perceived invincibility in the eyes of the Binis has been crushed and not only will other kidnappers try to kidnap his wife, relatives and other children, but the will go ahead to kidnap even more powerful individuals just to push their luck a bit; Maybe Igbinedion Snr, maybe Oshiomhole the Governor.

But that thug Adun most likely planned the whole thing, I'm certain he did, having personally experienced some of the very weird and demonic situations that tout can just concoct in his mind and unleash on the unsuspecting public in order to earn himself an extra N5 from orange sellers at Ring Road. I know that ugly punk has something up his agbada.

For the kidnapping streak being carried out in Benin, we have none other to thank than MEND. Their freedom fighting is really yielding results. Last week someone was kidnapped in Benin for N80,000.

MEND in turn have none other to give thanks to for their various thriving businesses than Asari Dokubo himself.

When we engage in armed struggle based on our philosophies and ideals, we have to remember that the people who will enlist in this armed struggle really don't know what we're talking about, and they really do not care. What they are sure of is that guns bring money, power and respect. Frederick Fasheun brought us Gani Adams and now Asari Dokubo is giving us Gbomo Jomo, Tompolo and many more to come disturb our future.

I'm on my way to Lagos right now cos if these boys make mistake kidnap me, kobo no dey.
