Some of them may have been deported from Abuja some years back. They came to seek refuge in Kano and they're being deported again. The Northern leaders have truely failed their people.

Begging is now organized in Nigeria and quite profitable.

Beggars are recruited based on how grimy their amputations and diseases are by agents and allocated spots in public to beg.

They pay a daily amount to their agent and keep the rest............ just like organized prostitution. undecided

How won't that happen when there is no plan for the future of the children. they just give birth like pigs and abandon them. when the North starts contributing fully to the economy then Nigeria would be a better place

All are northern states, even when they have been in power longer than any other ethnic group, imagine if the Igbos or Yoruba where to rule this country for the same years the North has ruled, Nigeria won't be in this mess.

Olusegun Obasanjo was a president of Nigeria for 8 years and Nigeria was and is still in a mess. Please remind me of which tribe he's from undecided

If Jonathan, Ironsi and OBJ are the best southern Nigeria can produce, then i see no point in blaming northerners for the worsening situation we found ourselves in because in that case the northerners are quite Angels compared with your messiahs.

Better, you can't walk the streets of Kano without beggars calling you to give them money.
You hear them shouting 'YELLOW, OGA, MADAM, BROTHER, SISTER" and when you turn, behold a beggar calling your attention just to ask you for money, I bet some of them would even call your name had they known it.
BTW, Is kano a depot for sick people? The kind of sicknesses those people have begs the question whether they are cursed.

But seriously these beggars take begging as a profession, I don't even give to beggars anymore especially if they are healthy. Even if they aren't they can still get by but choose to beg. I know beggars that send their children to school through begging, Some don't even accept less than N100. It has become a profession and there are becoming nuisance. Imagine begging in a place as populated as Kano, If 100 people could give you just N10 you have a thousand naira in just a day. Some people even ask beggars for change . Those kids you see begging, some of them were organized by Alhajis to go beg and bring back the money...I wonder what they are given in return. It is time to put a stop to begging in the North. Kaduna have made a move now it is Kano, In Niger state the Nuisance aren't that much. This begging is a profession peculiar to the Hausas. The Gwaris, Nupes and some tribes in the North will never beg no matter how poor. They rather farm.

pls keep the gwaris out of this, we dont beg rather we prefer to drink our tuwo and farm our yam

Kano deports Nigerians.

Kano has Hisbah Islamic Religious Police - Operates sharia criminal laws that are alien to Nigeria's constitution.

It is lucrative o. Theres one woman in my area dt resumes duty in front of every restaurant in d estate. She wakes up early like shes going to work, i even see her along d road wt her kids going to resume duty. 8am, she has positioned herself at the 1st place where they serve breakfast, she will beg wt her very dirty looking children, who miraculously always have clean, good slippers on. Then she goes to another place for d lunch rush, then sits in front of d garden (where they sell grilled fish) in the evening. Im sure she earns twice d minimum wage at the end of d month.
