Not social media Per se. The Internet rather. Studies have shown the rise of Internet in underdeveloped/developed nations is equivalent to the rise of Atheism or just irreligious people. The Internet cures Ignorance. That's why Islamic government or some strict government always attack the internet first. Many Nations with Christians as a majority embraced democracy so censoring the internet will go against the tenets of democracy.... They lose lots of followers in the process while Islam is on the rise because they manage to keep their followers ignorant(Even in democracy). As the internet grows and connects more people, the reach of social media naturally expands. People communicated via internet before social media. Usenet groups, irc etc.. Johnnydon22, it's quite a long time I left the "religion section". I've been active in the politics section.. I grounded in my hometown today, Nsukka precisely.. I was just a bit bored, so decided to visit some long 'deserted' sections... Oh yeah! Landed on your dairy..... Hmm! Chukwuemeka? Nice name... Never knew you were tall? I'm tall too. sonOfLucifer: Yea we are saying same thing. Social means interactions and dealings within groups. Internet falls under social media since it involves sharing informations via such social meduim as the internet and the same way social media falls under Internet since such social interactions takes place within the Internet community. |
