How Can We Tell Which Religion Is Right? by Nikky23: 5:22pm On Jun 11, 2009
I am a prouud christian and i know we all believe in one God but the ways are different. Let us take christians and Islams, we christians believe in Jesus Christ as the son of God and the Bible says we can get to heaven through him, Islams, do not but they believe in God. I am a christian because I was born one and i believe the Bible but so are the Islams. So how do we really know, sometimes i used to think what if Islam is actually the right one since we have not heard from God directly ourselves?

How can you tell? The answer to that is that you can't.You can only stay true and loyal to the doctrines of your own religious group. You can't do more than that.
Besides, point of correction, you are not born a christian, but you were born into christianity. When you came into this world you had no religion,or maybe i should say,you had no religious tag.

Jagunlabi is a major false prophet. There is a true God and Father of all manking. His name is Yahveh.

You have a choice to serve Goodness or to serve Evil. Those who are one the side of goodness are on the side

of the YHVH. Those on the side of evil serve evil persons and spirits. THE SCRIPTURE confesses the knowledge of

The Yahveh and his laws. Yahveh is not something the Jews invented. Yahveh invented the Jews and even all the

tribes on earth. Thats means yu are supposed to serve Yahveh, we all supposed to serve Yahveh. His way is the

way of holiness and purity. So their is a struggle going on btw the truth and the lies. Know your true Master and

Creator The Yah and serve Him according to the Torah Law then he will bless you.

Lol!False prophet. grin
Does Yahweh not belong to the jews?To my knowledge the jews don't like sharing the possession of their tribal god with anybody outside their tribe, and that includes christians. So go look for your own god, christian.Yahweh is taken. grin
Yahweh invented the jews? No,it is the other way around. The ancient jews invented yahweh.

I know I'll never stop being a Christian, because of my experience.

Me too, but just another thought, u know, what if i was born a muslim, would I be following Islam doctrines? or am I a christian because I was born into it and see other religions as being wrong, but moretheless, i'm glad I was born a christian.
Re: How Can We Tell Which Religion Is Right? by Nobody: 9:49pm On Jul 03, 2009
Whichever way, I thank God I was born into a Christian family. If I was a muslim, maybe I wouldn't have enjoyed it, for reasons I wouldn't like to go into now.

Here's a quote
Since its inconceivable that all religions can be right, the most reasonable conclusion is they are all wrong

Islam is the true religion.
Talk of mystery god in the bible. God neither eat nor sleep, in the bible jesus ate and drank, and in mathew 4- satan carry jesus the so called God.

How can jesus be God when he said  john 20:17 'Do not hold on to me  for i have not yet ascended to the father, go instead to my brothers and tell them 'i am returning to my father  and your father, to my God and your God'
jesus is not God, mactao a christian testify to this,
jesus never said worship me in the bible.

Trinity never exist in the bible. They say it is the concept of father, son and holy spirit. Now if i marry 3 wives i am trinity husband ? Don't let yourself be brainwash.

Church going on sunday never exist in the bible so  your religion never encourage you for holy service.

Christianity can never be found in the bible, so jesus is never aware of the so called religion.

Quran 3:85 'And whosoever seeks a religion other than  islam, it will never be accepted of him and in the hereafter he will be one of the losers'

Quran 4:172
The messiah jesus wil  never be proud to reject to be  a slave of Allah nor the angels who are near to Allah, and whosoever rejects Allah worship and is proud, then He will gather them all together to Himself.

Quran 10:57
O Mankind ! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord the Quran and is a healing for that ignorancy, doubt, hypocrisy, which is in your hearts , it is a guidance and a mercy  for the believers'

Quran 2:161-162
verily those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers, it is they on whom is the curse of Allah and the angels and of mankind combined. They will abide therein forever under the curse of hell, their punishment will neither be lighten nor will they be reprieved

Wasn't there a christian hymn that said 'thank god i wasn't born a Jew'?

Maybe Mormonism is the one true faith, because the book of Mormon says so.

Very wrong analogy, You are comparing grapes to oranges. The US treasury is responsible for printing the dollars, they have acknowledged that fact and they alone have they sole responsibility of doing that and all dollars can be known to be either fake or real based on the standard that has been provided or set by them, but in the case of religion all you have are different $5 note telling you that they are the real $5 note while all other $5 are fake without any US treasury ever endorsing any of them, all they do is talk about how real they are and how fake others are, if you ask them to provided any evidence to support their claims they will show you the signatures(scriptures) of their alleged Chairman of the Federal reserve(their various gods) who never signed the document. himself.(all religious text were written by men NO god/gods has ever written any).

Here is a little tip, bud, for a true religion. (Sorry, I get a little time sad)

THE MESSAGE OF ISLAM

Since the total submission of one's will to Allah represents the essence of worship, the basic message of Allah's divine religion, Islam is the worship of Allah alone and the avoidance of worship directed to any person, place or thing other than Allah.Since everything other than Allah, the Creator of all things, is Allah's creation; it may be said that Islam, in essence calls man away from the worship of creation and invites him to worship only its Creator. He is the only one deserving man's worship as it is only by His will that prayers are answered. If man prays to a tree and his prayers are answered, it was not the tree which answered his prayers but Allah who allowed the circumstances prayed for to take place. One might say, "That is obvious," however, to tree-worshippers it might not be. Similarly, prayers to Jesus, Buddha, or Krishna, to Saint Christopher, or Saint Jude or even to Muhammad, are not answered by them but are answered by Allah. Jesus did nottell his followers to worship him but to worship Allah. As the Qur'aan states:

"And behold Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary Did you say to men, Worship me and my mother as gods besides Allah He will say-"Glory to you I could never say what I had no right (to say')" (Soorah Al-Maa'idah- 5:116)

Nor did he worship himself when he worshipped but rather he worshipped Allah. This basic principle is enshrined in the opening chapter of the Qur'aan, known as Soorah Al-Faatihah, verse 4:

"You alone do we worship and from you alone do we seek help".

In the Bible:

"One came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he (Jesus) said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God.
(Matthew 19: 16-17,in King James Version)

You may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after Me. I, I am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior. (Isaiah 43: 10-11)

Till I come back, by God's grace. Thanks.

jagunlabi:

How can you tell? The answer to that is that you can't.You can only stay true and loyal to the doctrines of your own religious group. You can't do more than that.
Besides, point of correction, you are not born a christian, but you were born into christianity. When you came into this world you had no religion,or maybe i should say,you had no religious tag.

I would say everybody (except those born of atheist parents) had a religion when they came into the world or should I say were tagged at birth.
Some are born by Muslim parents, into a muslim home and in some cases raised in a muslim society surrounded by muslim neighbours. Trained in a muslim school whose rules are based on the tenets of islam , by muslim teachers. Was given a muslim name at birth (prolly Mohammed, Yussuf or Osama), dressed in muslim robes/costumes, ate muslim approved foods/diets, e.t.c. I say that kid was tagged way before his parents had unprotected sex.

Like you said, we cant tell which is the true religion. We cant even tell if they are all refering to the same God. So why not seek the truth first before jumping in, rather than follow the crowd simply because you were born into it.
Re: How Can We Tell Which Religion Is Right? by Krayola(m): 2:20pm On Jul 04, 2009
@ op.

Every religion is "true" as long as the believer thinks so. If you believe that wearing a "lucky" shirt/watch/ shoe/ etc will bring you good-fortune, that is as valid a religion as someone believing a prayer will bring them good fortune.

As far as objective, verifiable proof, no religion can provide that. The world's major religions are relatively new and their beliefs grew out of previously existing religions and not divine revelation as is often believed.  They came about in an era of myths so they all have stories that we know should not be taken literally.

I just cant stop reading this.

Are you serious?? Does it work in reverse?? i.e "every belief is ture as long as a religion says so". WOW!! So can I say Santa Clause is real cos I think so?? or even the Easter bunny?! undecided
Re: How Can We Tell Which Religion Is Right? by Krayola(m): 3:44pm On Jul 04, 2009
That's why "true" is in quotes. No one can falsify the core claims of people's beliefs.

I never said it worked in reverse, u did. Why should it work in reverse? What is ur point?

As a muslim, you serve God, right? Is God a muslim? You're judging Christianity as a religion based on the fact that Mohammed was a muslim. Doesn't work.

You're the one who's saying Jesus is God. Please note than when Christians say God, they're talking about the Father. Not some mystery you conjured in your imagination.

Plus, Jesus said not to hold on to Him because He had not ascended to His Father. But now that He has ascended to His father, doesn't common sense tell you that that changes things?

If you marry 3 wives you're not a trinity husband, because you're not one with your three wives.

The Bible says not to forsake the gathering of the brethren, as some do. Christians may gather whenever they please, and that's why Christian gatherings aren't limited to sunday.

Very good. Although Jesus (p.b.u.h) has said that he and the Father are one in John (10:30), right?
But please help me reconcile the two for he also said the father is greater than him in John (14:28).

Explain these two verses to me, please. Thanks.

This is to shed the light of truth to the above topic. There are uncountable proofs to show that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that no one will ever come to God except through Him. Jesus Christ is the only way to God. There are lots of prophecies to confirm it even in many religious books. Jesus Christ is the only person authorized by God to save mankind. It doesn't matter the religion one is into, no one will be saved without believing in Jesus. The prophecies given by Jesus aroung 2000 years ago are unfolding in our eyes these days. If you're doubtful about this as a christian, please erase all doubts and believe what the Bible has said about Jesus. If you're not yet a christian, my advice to you is just to throw all prejudices in the gabbage cam and simply come to Jesus Christ so as to have the life of God in you and be with the creator after living this world.

Jesus himself never claimed any of these things. They have been taken out of context, and some just made up decades after his death.
