Bisi Akande, former Interim National Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC
The APC Chairman said the president was running a kindergarten presidency.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to go to court if he felt insulted by a statement by its National Chairman, Bisi Akande, that he is running a kindergarten presidency.
In a statement by its spokesman, Lai Mohammed, on Monday, the APC said there was nothing wrong in criticising a democratically-elected. government.

Go to court if you felt libelled – APC tells Jonathan
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to go to court if he felt libelled by the description of his presidency as a kindergarten presidency by the Interim National Chairman of the APC,
In a statement issued in Accra on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said Chief Akande merely told the truth by his characterization of the Jonathan presidency, adding ”Isn’t truth a defence
to libel?”
It also said there was nothing strange or wrong in criticizing a democratically-elected President, after all he is neither an Imperial President, a Monarchy nor an Emperor.
APC said nothing confirmed Chief Akande’s assertion that Jonathan is running a kindergarten presidency than the crude manner it (presidency) responded to the frank but constructive criticism by the APC National Chairman.
”In the true character of this presidency, its increasingly irreverent and undignified spokesman failed to respond to the issues raised by Chief Akande, and instead chose to haul abuses at a man who is old enough to be his father. Such irresponsible act does no credit to the spokesman or the president he is serving, and Nigerians will definitely not forget such crudity in a hurry.
”Where is the presidency’s response to Chief Akande’s assertion that he has written two letters to the President over the serious challenges facing the country, without getting a response? Where is the presidency’s response to Chief Akande’s assertion that President Jonathan is witch-hunting political opponents? These are the issues that Nigerians are interested in, not how many hours the President sleeps at night because he is supposedly working tirelessly.
”In any case, if indeed this President is working tirelessly, we need to ask who he is working for, because Nigerians have yet to feel the impact of his administration. They are also not interested in the fact that the President once served as a deputy governor, governor and Vice President, because the experiences he supposedly garnered from doing so have not impacted positively on his duty as President. That’s not a surprise, considering that the President owes his meteoric rise in politics to luck and destiny. Nothing else!” the party said
It described the presidency as an under-achieving one, always eager to celebrate tokenism, using questionable statistics.
”As the presidency was composing its empty response to the serious issues raised by our highly-respected Chairman, the African Development Bank was saying in its annual report (African Economic Outlook), quoted by the local media on Sunday, that the proportion of people (Nigerians) living below the national poverty line has worsened from 65.5 per cent in 1996 to
69.0 per cent in 2010, most of those years under the PDP and the last four under President Jonathan.
”What therefore is there to celebrate in a presidency under which power generation has fallen to 2,500MW? What is there to celebrate in a presidency that has only given Nigerians widespread insecurity, unemployment, dilapidated infrastructure, oil theft and unbridled corruption. Of what use is the touted 6% increase in the GDP when over 40% of our youth are unemployed? APC queried
The party described as a figment of the presidency’s imagination the claim of a feud between its leaders, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, saying the PDP and the presidency have been peddling lies over a phantom feud because they could not fathom how the leadership of the APC could put national interest above personal considerations.
”Mr. President, don’t let your lick-spittle aides deceive you. There is absolutely no feud between the two leaders. Waiting for such a feud is like ‘Waiting for Godot’.” it said.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed
National Publicity Secretary
All Progressives Congress (APC)

On what grounds was the accusations made. Some so clueless and have nothing to show for seven year than his acceptance of defeat. Those words was actually the obvious and lacks no dilution
However, for the PDP it came on the heels of buhari trying to sanitize the mess of holding a corrupt individual and a terrorist.
Check other nations of especially China, Dasuki and Joanthan would have been killed for corruption
As irritating as PDp is they were not even ashamed to say they intend to use Dasuki for their presidential candidate for 2019. This goes to show that the party has no sympathy and inconsiderate to the well-being of Nigerians. All they crave for is power
Soon PDP will only appear as history on the pages of social studies and government textbooks

Even China has to find a accuse person guilty of his crime before a court of jurisdiction before carrying out the sentence as stipulated by such court. People like you has let sentiments becloud their sense of reasoning to the point of making judgement on a case before a court. I'm not speaking for or against APC or PDP but against finding accuse guily on social media which is the new trend in Nigeria.

Your comment reeks of stupidity (no insult intended). Mature and responsible presidents allow the courts representing an independent arm of govt to work without interference. Nigeria isn't North Korea or Myanmar of old where people are executed on the basis of mere accusation. One has to be found guilty first by a court of competent jurisdiction before he's punished as directed by the court. Nobody is tried on the pages of newspapers or on social media or even in the office of the president as has become the norm in Nigeria since may 29th 2015.

So because you think you are in desperate times you think every1 shares that opinion?
The Law is sacrosanct and is the premise for which the president is also sitting where he is 2day so if he and his agent decide to. Disobey the same law they should be ready for what comes their way. When a Sargent refuses to obey his command as C in C I hope he does not try to invoke the same law to punish the Sargent. When the citizens go on civil disobedience as they promised GEJ (ameachi pre-election promise) hope they don't result to using the same law to subdue them. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW NOT EVEN MR PRESIDENT UNLESS THE LAW IS USELESS IN THAT CASE NOT EFFECTIVE ON ANYONE ( we don't want to turn Nigeria to a lawless state.) desperate times my foot.

Desperate times indeed!
Buhari got elected and sworn in by virtue of the provisions of the constitution, the law of the land which he's denigrating. Desperate times doesn't empower the president to openly denigrate the courts of the land, it's even worse than the corruption he claims to be fighting.
Yes we want corruption out but in disobeying court orders he's introducing a worse form of corruption, an even more dangerous form.
Buhari had the option of appealing the ruling of the high courts if he feels the judges erred and not openly and stubbornly disobeying them. It's dangerous.

no but I wish they would

The Law is sacrosanct

the law was made for man not man for the law
nothing but God almighty is sacrosanct

and is the premise for which the president is also sitting where he is 2day so if he and his agent decide to.

he sits there cos we the people put him there

Disobey the same law they should be ready for what comes their way. When a Sargent refuses to obey his command as C in C I hope he does not try to invoke the same law to punish the Sargent.

the Sargent need, to look face

When the citizens go on civil disobedience as they promised GEJ (ameachi pre-election promise) hope they don't result to using the same law to subdue them.

if the people want corruption to continue
he has no choice,
but right now we the people (majority) want corruption crushed either by the black or white cat
doesn't matter
ppl know instinctively what is fair and what is not

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW NOT EVEN MR PRESIDENT UNLESS THE LAW IS USELESS IN THAT CASE NOT EFFECTIVE ON ANYONE ( we don't want to turn Nigeria to a lawless state.)

does this look like a lawful state
