smiley Just smiling, because Ibos are wise and independent, the more you try to frustrate them, the better they become. What happened to Tejoosho Market will still happen to Oshodi market.

My dear, was there any formal notification as regards the demolition of properties and goods worth millions of naira?
Honestly for illegal structure there is no need for that. In fact they should be prosecuted

Ok ooo. But i don't support the idea of pulling the place down when some peoples' goods are still in the shops. That's callous!

They were forewarned with adequate notice but out of their stubborn nature, they refused to leave.

I remember when they did the same at iyana IBA and built ultra modern markets at a reasonable price.
Only few of this market people got the shops...few years later now the iyana IBA is filled and littered with road side market people...... We want Lagos to compete with New York, London,Paris and Johannesburg but yet we keep making it filthy.
The Govt is trying its best to sanitize the environment but we the citizen don't welcome the idea.

LASG should ensure that all the markets in Lagos are closed down ASAP. (Excluding pepper and Tomato sellers)

Let's see how the Internally Generated Revenue will become 300 billion as estimated

You can keep fabricating valid excuses for this callous path you've chosen. undecided

About time mad trading in imported goods stopped in Nigeria. Not that any of these electronics even last for six months.

No one is stopping you leaving stop pretending that you are captives.

One question just one.

You have 15 senators and more members of the House of representatives Governors and so on Not one of them has raised the issue . Indeed the only peope who are being STOPPED from leaving right now are Boko Haram who clearly are more committed than you. The fact that Boko Haram wants to leave does not mean the North wants to leave. The fact that Nnamdi Kanu wants to leave does not mean the majority of Eboes do.So to convince us that it is a majority aspiration get your state House of Assembly tp pass a resolution, get your Senators to speak in the Senate and your Governors too or were all these people imposed on you??

Its shocking how people are reacting. These people had been informed long before now. You can't fault the government for destroying illegal shops. Nigerians always admire great, well planned cities in Europe and America but we don't want to take the necessary steps needed. Pls people should stop giving pointless sympathy where its not needed.

There is no hate anywhere. Why are people building illegal structures that constitute nuisance, chaos and disorder? Like previous posts, if we want our cities to be like London, Dubai, NewYork etc , we need to do away with our culture of erecting illegal structures everywhere because they become shanty towns and breeding place for all kinds of vices.
If you can't get an approved outlet to ply your trade, why not move to other towns and cities? This culture of erecting extensions or illegal structures has to stop for good!

They must have given them a notice, there are many markets and structures with notice of demolition but the traders rather move their things will start bribing government officials.

Notice was given like 2 months ago... That's why they've gat no reason to protest

Fine they must have been given pre-information about the demolition was the notice long enough! Was there any provision for them as regards where they could safe keep their goods and properties?

Come to think of it, if u are a shop owner who just fully stocked his/her shop wit goods like one of those persons out dere and you came dis morning only to find out dat your shop and goods inside of it worth millions of naira has bee burnt down by a govt you voted for what will you do?

Have you also had any thought that some of those shops burnt down, serves as a house to some of the owners too?

My dear there are one thousand and one ways to sanitise an environment not by burning down shops and properties inside it. embarassed sad
