Science is a field where till today we are exploring new things and will continue to do so in future too. Every day we listen and see news about big and small discoveries in science. We all know about the six senses: sight, smell, sound, feel and taste, but now science is saying something else too, that apart from these 5 senses, there is something more to add to it.


1. Pregnant women can sense snakes and gay men.
The researchers hid some snakes in a garden and the study proved that the ovulating women could find the snakes faster around them, it is due to their ability to sense danger around them. Gay men can also be detected by them because a woman can understand an emotional man better.


2. By the sound of water, you can differentiate between hot and cold water.
The molecules of water change when it is hot and cold. The molecules become dense when cold and vice versa and at the same time the sound also changes. Around 90% of the people can distinguish, even I can I think.


3. Personality and emotions can be smelled, really!
It happens sometimes that we meet someone and can sense something good or bad about them, we sometimes call it positive and negative vibes. Through evolution, we have the ability to sense feelings and intentions.


4. Our hands glow like radium.
You can see your hands in the dark, a study has proved that if you are blindfolded in a dark room you can still see your hands. Magic it seems like.


5. There are colors beyond those 7 too.

Tetrachromats are those colors which only a few people can see. Scientists have found out ways to see those colors too. For example, Pink color is not in those 7 colors yet we can see it.


6. Men can tell if a woman is ovulating.

Men are really smart to notice a change in a woman. In a research, men were found to be more careful towards ovulating women than non-ovulating women.


7. Humans can hear more clearly under water than fishes.
Normally we can hear up to 20,000 hertz. Under water, we can get the vibrations very fast and thus we can hear more fast and clear.


8. After Blindness, you still can see.
In a study, happy and sad photos were kept in front of blind people and the interesting thing is that they could tell the difference. When people go blind they lose one sense but in turn, their other senses become more powerful.


9. Not only nose but your skin can smell too.

The skin uses its ability to smell to heal itself, the same cells are present in the skin which are there on the nose. There is a lot more to explore in this world.
