Point of correction, Niger Delta tribes are not closely related to the Igbos. We all have different ancestory, whether Ogoni, Ijaw, Urhobo, Benin, Itsekiri etc. Please, be guided

Shattaaaaap! Ignoramus. There is nothing like Edo Kingdom, there is only Benin Kingdom. We have treaties that the British signed with our ancestors as far back as 1889 and even 1901. The Ijaws informed the British in the 40s that we want to be autonomous but the fools(British) refused and lumped us with other nationalities in Eastern region. It was never so before. The so called Midwest was created in 1963 after the Western region allowed referendum but the Igbos refused us referendum to suppress us. Thanks to Awo and Gowon! We made agitation for Oil Rivers state(Ijaws in Rivers and Akwa Ibom), Toru Ibe state(for Ijaws in Delta, Edo and Ondo) and Bayelsa state but were only given Bayelsa. If we had got those states, it will mean that Ijaw has 3 exclusive states of their own and project our identity. I don't blame your kind, I blame the foolish British and the Nigerian structure.

Beside: There is nothing like "Core Deltan", you are an Igboman.
was that why you Ijaws where deported from Rivers to Bayelsa states simply because the Ijaws where marginalising the minorities...

Ijaw land ends in Bayelsa (6 LGA)...

If we cling to Hausa, we will forever be backward n they will indirectly be murdering us.

If we want to go with Igbo, they will call us Nidi-Awusa n will never see us for what we r---different! We do not feel safe with them because they have not forgiven us since after the war. Igbo find it difficult to forgive, despite sharing same faith with many of us. They will remind us of how we were willing tools in the killing of 3 million of their brethren during the war.

This knowledge is what Hausa uses to tie us down n hold us captive telling us Igbo will never accept us as friends for killing their brothers in the past when we were used by Nigeria because we were in the army.
Igbo will not realize that it was Nigerian army against Biafra and not Middle belt against Biafra or North against biafra.

Sincerely we wish to go with Biafra if possible but since we might not stand with Igbo because of in forgiveness, we might finally have to stand alone as MiddleBelt.

But make NO MISTAKE we will never be willing tools again in the hands of Hausa!

Alas there is now a problem though.
During this BokoHaram menace, in order to protect our lives, many of us joined the Nigerian army to fight Boko.....
If a 2nd war breaks out between Nigeria and Biafra, we r tied down as the govt will still deploy us to fight them.
This is so bad and many of us feel bad bout this.... in the end we always end up being tools(?willing) in one way or the other by the govt to fight Igbo.

So what are you young and more informed so called middlebelters doing to correct the situation

Are you going to still let your useless and worthless leaders such as that slave muderous bastard called Yakubu Gowon lead you guys towards a path that is wrong

Hoping for forgiveness is not the issue

Igbo people normally only forgive when they see sincerity
They normally wouldn't hold grudges but rather would not forget what an offender did
Cause trust is like a plain sheet of paper
ones squeezed
it can never remain the same again

Fact is you guys have not shown any seriousness in rectifying the situation your idiotic fathers put you guys in

When you commit such type of atrocity you can only reduce your impending punishment by seeking and going through the path of reconciliation
which starts by first being sincere with yourself that you have done wrong and are truely sorry for what you did
You then seek for forgiveness from the people you have offended at the same time restore what ever is restorable

Failure to do this will only leave at the mercy of natures vengance mechanism "KARMA"
which will always pay you back in full for what you did

No amount of sweeping under the carpet will change this

Allowing guilty conscience to blackmail you into not doing what is right will only make you suffer in the end

This is why it's not good to commit evil
cause you'll always live with the consequences

You either manup and do what you are suppose to do
or you face the consequences of your action

The choice is yours

No need worrying about the Igbo people
cause they've already madeup their mind on what they want to do

Have we failed in nation building? These balkanization pulls are signals that our nation building efforts were sabotaged by those who were to have husbanded it. God save Nija.

Major(Dr) Okonkwo, the governor of the Midwest that took over from Ejoor is from Ibusa in Delta State. Do a little research before making making very wild assertions!!!

The problem with we in the MiddleBelt is that we have adopted Hausa language as our common language.
How do we give it up now?
Some of us have stopped speaking Hausa in our villages right now n we don't allow them enter our villages again.
We have made sure our children communicate in either our local language, pidgin or English.
We hope it spreads.
The reason y the Hausa-Fulani find it easy to permeate our regions and cause havoc is because we have a common language.
If we stopped speaking Hausa, they will be forced to abandon their language, learn English(and thru that make them come in contact with Western Concepts packed in the English language thus becoming deradicalized) or go back home from whence they come from.

Unfortunately many of our MB youths r not even on nairaland.
They can't even browse not to talk of logging into nairaland for them to see this my proposition.
Many of them thru blood ties r in one way or another connected to Borno empire but if Niger delta can seperate themselves from Igbo whom they r closely related to, likewise we can separate ourselves from Hausa-Fulani-Kanuri.

I strongly believe things will get better.
In your submissions yourself you have pointed out that the you MBs do not stand a chance of an alliance with the Igbos, but why not try to revive the Arewanism pioneered by Sardauna? It may be the best solution for you people.
