I watched a special on this guy. He is a news anchor and he will eventually start wearing white because I think he also has universal vitiligo

I feel sorry for them cos they must feel like they are abnormal, and I know if they went out without make up, ignorant people would stare and laugh at them, I guess thats why MJ said It dont matter if you're Black or White, or in his case, Both

With Michael Jackson the Vitiligo started to manifeste on one of his hand, this is why he was wearing the white glove to hide it at the begining.
There was too many people putting Michael Jackson down and giving him a hard time about stupid things that he did not do. Which very much may be the reason of his death (stress), but he might also have been killed.

In vitiligo the melanocytes [cells that produce melanin which is responsible for dark colour] are deficient leading to the white patches.
Now if you wanted to permanently mask the condition, it would be much easier to destroy the remaining cells than to regenerate the deficient ones hence white is the only way M.J could have gone.

I think its a matter of choice though. Some people choose to lighten, others choose to darken. Check the second post on this page, the man darkened his skin.
Plus, it doesn't help that there's always been controversies that Michael had never really been proud of his race.

Nope spiky the man did not darken his skin, wat he did is mere make-up something he usually has to do everyday and everytime.

Imagine urself doing make up everytime u sweat, play, swim and other things for the rest of your life and also for every part of the body that is exposed and not just ur face.

Imagine how many hours u spend just making up your face once or twice a day, no imagine the kind of stress Jackson had to go through trying to make up.

Hence since the pigmentation is being lost, the most sensible and cost effective way to go was to de-pigment himself and make himself look pale so that it would even out the other white patches permanently so that he would have to do make-up only once in a while.

i completely agree with you on this.

Jackson would have looked very ridiculous with a flat nose, pale skin (even white people looked colored compared to jackson) and afro hair.

Hence going white really seemed quite logical if people really sincerely consider it.
