And just like that, I've been cured of my buying plantain chips in traffic craze. ewwwwwww!! I remember in uni, we all loved that ice cream that came in a pyramid pack. Only for people to say they saw the seller use the same scissors he used to cut it open to groom his armpit hairs. Or the food vendors, that we were told rinse out used straws and give it to new customers. Till now I bend and destroy my straws after drinking. |

Na to dey sanitize, scrub and wash all these fruits o. Hian!!! The only thing I love to buy outside my home is pastries and ice cream. Those hot, freshly fried roadside puff-puff and crunchy buns are bae. Since the day one girl said she saw cockroach in a Mr Bigg's pie and the rotten beef in one pie I ate at that Iwo Rd tantalizers, I av decided to take it easy on meat pies. I will only buy them if they are an oven fresh batch. |

How sure are you that the one of KFC or any of the high and mighty eatries ain't worse? They prepare their food where you can't even see them so they are liable to as much rubbish as they like. Even their sweat i hear drips inside d food |

Abiagirl777: No, I actually didn't. You and your ilk spread unnecessary fear with ur half baked knowledge about the disease. We are talking about unsanitary conditions and I don't recollect where HIV can be contracted by eating blood contaminated food. When no be Lassa or Ebola. While nobody is asking u to go and be eating bloodied food upandan, HIV is NOT contracted through eating blood contaminated food. Better to be quiet and look stu..pid than open your mouth to confirm your stup..idity 3 Likes |

Why not f*ucking cook at home?! The food you cook at home is far more healthier and you can still cook cheap and healthy food! You know how unhealthy the street food is, and yet you continued patronising them! Stop complaining!! |

Naijasinglegirl: It's quite easy to condemn the roadside food vendors and street hawkers for their unhygienic practices but let's not forget that even the major companies produce their packaged foods under the most hygienic conditions. We ever really know what goes on behind closed doors in the KFCs, Sweets sensations and Eko hotels you mentioned. I once bought a spoilt and rotten chicken pie from tantalizers in my area. When I returned to complain, the manager pleaded that I do not make noise of the experience to the extent of giving me an extra chicken pie as compensation. Take a tour of our food processing factories and see how badly standards have fallen. How Lives are being endangered every passing day. I once walked into a bakery and saw one of the workers snoring heavily on a heap of bread meant to be sold to consumers. Even with that thought, I still find my 'agege' bread irresistable and irreplaceable. Truth is, we can't be too careful. Only God will save Nigerians |
