What do u use for brooding. How much do u spent on housing for the 2000 birds. I want to go into broiler production too

Charcoal as source of heat. Cover the pen in sacks or taupulin and cardboard as chick guard. Cost of housing depends on the standard of the pen, the topography of the land and other factors. A budget of 1M should build a 2000 - 3000 capacity pen. It could be lesser or more depending on your taste.

The standard is 1 Square Foot per bird. 100 ft by 25 ft will do.

Yes it does. If you think 1 Square foot isnt enough, you can use 1.5 square feet. 2 square feet is too much.

The preferable source of heating during brooding is charcoal especially for commercial broiler production. The weather has been extremely cold at my end and i wanted to save money on cost, so i was using wood during the day and charcoal at night. Unfortunately I noticed that my birds were sneezing yesterday night. That could have explained the high mortality i have had so far. Lesson: Dont use any source of heat that will trap smoke in the brooding house.
