The Supreme Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria, this evening, upheld the election of Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel. The court rules that Governor Emmanuel won the lawfully cast votes setting aside the ruling of the 2 lower courts. Reasons for verdict are to be given on February 15th, 2016. It calls for celebration because we still have a court where justice can neither be bought nor sold and we still have judges that can't be intimidated by the body language of one illiterate General who happened to find himself in the corridors of power..

It calls for a celebration because they've succeded in unmasking the real corrupt judiciary in this country and it is worthy of celebration because this is a victory for democracy .
