Masturbation is a very hard addiction to break - praying alone wont solve it, you need to get yourself surrounded by christian friends, get involved in activities so you're not by yourself too often. You wont even notice when the urge disappeared. Spend too much time watching TV or reading books that are overtly sexual in nature and you can bet all your prayers for that day has just gone to waste. Whether masturbation is a sin against god or not a bad habit is a bad habit and bad habits whether its taking class A drugs, drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes etc are very difficult to give up. I used to masturbate myself so i know how u feel. Its only when i allowed my girlfriend to squeeze my bulls on two seperate occasions after doing it that i managed to get my mind over the matter and give up the habit. Am not religious and i don't believe that your religious beliefs alone will help u give up the habit. You have to do something [b]actions speak louder [/b]than words.
