Every man reaps the results of his own
thoughts and deeds, and suffers for his
own wrong.

He who begins right, and continues
right, does not need to desire, and search
for felicitous results; they are already at
hand; they follow as consequences; they
are the certainties, the realities, of life.

Sweet is the rest and deep is the bliss
of him who has freed his heart from its
lusts and hatreds and dark desires.

EFCC stop this media war, if you really want Tompolo and serious, you know the way to the creek. EFCC squad are not amphibious, ND militants are amphibious...they can fight in both land and water...water being their strength. No make mistake carry fight enter water with them...

It is not a media trial, The EFCC went to court and as stipulated in the freedom of information act and for transparency , the EFCC have not bared news outlets from running the story.

What do you think newspaper and prints are in the business of doing, providing reports of incidents

If this is media trial, what would you say of Jimmy Saville case in UK, Beslosconi several legal battles, the UK press in general would run any story till death, bill Cosby had a run so bad but the case did not stick

It is a duty that when a bench warrant is issued, notification is provided to the public through the radio, TV, press etc is a legal requirements, same as when a contract is being awarded etc. Since his lawyer has withdrwan his responsibility to produce him tompolo has hereby been served a notice

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday declared a former Niger Delta militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, wanted.
The anti-graft agency in an advertorial signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, said it declared Tompolo wanted following two bench warrants issued against him by a Federal High Court in Lagos, where he has been charged with N45.9bn fraud.
In the said advertorial which carried a photograph of Tompolo, the EFCC described him as a 47-year-old, dark-complexioned man from Okerenkoko, Gbaramotu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The wanted Tompolo, whose address was given as No. 1, Chief Agbanu Street, DDPA Extension, Warri, Delta State, is said to speak both Izon and English languages.
The public announcement issued by Uwujaren read in part, “The general public is hereby notified that Government Ekpemupolo (a.k.a. Tompolo), whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in relation to the offence of conspiracy, illegal diversion of the sum of N34,000,000,000.00 and N11,900,000,000.00 belonging to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.”
Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court in Lagos issued a bench warrant against Tompolo on January 14 after he shunned a summons dated January 12 issued on him by the judge to appear in connection with the fraud charges filed against him and nine others by the EFCC.
Justice Buba had then ordered the law enforcement agencies to produce Tompolo before him on February 8 for him to answer the charges, but rather than appear in court on January 8,
Tompolo brought an application seeking to quash the bench warrant and arrest order.
The judge, who dismissed the application for lacking in merit, renewed the arrest warrant and directed all law enforcement agencies to produce Tompolo before him on February 19.
Tompolo’s lawyer, Mr. Tayo Oyetibo (SAN), after failing to get the bench warrant vacated, turned down the responsibility of undertaking to produce his client in court.
Oyetibo said it was the responsibility of the prosecution to produce the suspect in court.
The EFCC filed 40 counts against Tompolo and nine others, including the immediate-past Director-General of NIMSA, Patrick Akpobolokemi.
The other suspects in the charge are Kime Engozu, Rex Elem, Gregory Mbonu and Capt. Warredi Enisuoh.
The suspects were charged along with four companies, namely: Global West Vessel Specialist Limited, Odimiri Electrical Limited, Boloboere Property and Estate Limited and Destre Consult Limited.
The suspects were accused of diverting and converting to their personal use a sum of N34bn and N11.9bn belonging to NIMASA.
The offence, according to EFCC, is contrary to Section 18 (a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012 and were liable to punishment under Section 15 (3) of the same Act.

As much as Tompolo is an ex militant Chief or what not, he still stole a colossal sum of funds allocated for his people by virtue of his position.

Unless there are idiots ready to collaborate and fight for such a man who's gone to rob unborn generations of their wealth, he needs to be jailed and made an example.

The level of ignorance in this country is at an unprecedented high, even amongst literate citizens. My comment is on the rate at which everybody accuses the president in disobeying court order. That is absolutely incorrect.

First, the President does not prosecute crime offenders, that is left for institutions legally instituted to prosecute criminals such as the Police, DSS, Attorney General's Office, EFCC etc.

Second, every suspect is entitled to bail hearing and it is at the discretion of the judge to grant or not grant bail, especially when the prosecuting officer/lawyer cannot provide sufficient evidence why the accused should not be granted bail.

Third, in view of the flight risk associated with many of these suspects, these prosecuting officers can decide to remove some charges from the charge sheet of the accused, this is entirely at their discretion, and proceed with the remaining charges. Where there is the possibility that the accused could be granted bail, he would be re-arrested on the previously removed charges and rearraigned in court again. This procedure is a tactic employed by prosecutors to avoid suspects jumping bail. The prosecutors will continue this tactic till trial date commences.

Additionally, we should commend the EFCC on their resolve in fighting corruption and their ability to use the law to their advantage. In the past, we read on how EFCC operatives cooperate with suspects in order to have a mistrial.

Finally, we must learn to leave out the President on issues like this. He has already done his part, developed the framework for anti-corruption crusade, appointed new heads of anti-corruption commissions, discussed with the judiciary on the need to ensure that the war on corruption is won and seek international cooperation and assistance on retrieving proceeds from corruption and extradition of suspects hiding outside our borders. Hence, it is not the President duty or responsibility to go to court and prosecute these suspects.

The way people comment on this platform, is an attestation to a verified opinion that there's indeed a problem in this country. Must people actually talk without applying their senses or just reason like right thinking human beings without attacking the person of the President or anything that identifies with him, especially when it has to do with issues of those who have plundered and balkanized this country to a state of economic serfdom? The way most people comment here shows that contemporary education in this country is nothing but mere paper certification when people have blatantly refused to develop the grey matter. Perhaps someone like this Know will start knowing by 2020.

Issuing arrest warrant for Tompolo is not the problem, the problem is who will go and carry out the arrest? OBJ declared him wanted for months after that what happened.

Why don't you perpetrate corruption to test if the EFCC is actually deceiving itself. From your comment, I can deduce that you have never visited the EFCC or had any issues with them and please, don't.

If tompolo is as brave as he claims. He should come out from the creeks and return back to warri city where he initially resided before his warrant of arrest.

Please don't join the bandwagon of ignorants
