I give up.. At this rate PMB will have to employ more media aides... If you cannot convince them, then confuse them. The change we voted for, the change we have

What the minister is saying is that the government isn't paying any subsidy. But that the philosophy of subsidizing hasn't changed yet.

Meaning that if there's a need to subsidize, e.g. if the prices are too high for the common man, the govt would subsidize.

Subsidy isn't the evil. Just like guns, its the people who miss-apply it that are at fault.

"Ferdral government has said it will
spend zero amounts in petroleum subsidy in 2016
and would not remove the subsidy while in
periods of high oil prices, ....."

I don't understand this. It seems contradictory. The reporter didn't do a good job.

Even if una produce 1 billion barrels every day, oil is worthless in the market and no one is even buying from Nigeria.

So who una dey deceive?

Besides, I saw nothing progressive in his speech sef, all I see is what happened in the seventies and the same ol loot recovery. No new news?

Read again, sometimes we need to read over again to grasp . . .

What action do you want from this news now? The minister should start driving petrol tanker

Yes, the minister should drive petrol tanker. If that will expel the current queue experiencing in filling stations. We didn't force them to make too much promises during political campaigns. "all we have been hearing generally has been talking"

Exactly.

At the moment the prices are low enough that, it could even be sold @ N70/l without subsidy, and at prolly N30-40/l if the old (2012-2014) subsidy figures are applied!

The gov't is 'saving' (this part though . . . fingers crossed . . #trustissues) those extras for when prices spike, and help could/would be needed.

I wonder why peeps are always in a hurry to comment but sluggish to read.
