by PRINCE CHARLES OFFOKAJA

Former Presidential candidate and seasoned journalist Dele Momodu has flayed what he described as the intimidation of current ministers serving in the Buhari Administration by President Buhari, saying the ministers fear the president, and as a result are not as vibrant as former president Jonathan’s ministers. Momodu, who was speaking at the first City People Social Media Awards advised President Buhari not to concentrate only on anti-corruption probe as that is bringing a paralyzing fear on his ministers who are too afraid to take any initiative.

‘If I were Buhari I would probe but not just probe, because there is too much scare mongering everywhere.

‘When you are too scared of your boss you can’t do anything. Most of Buhari’s ministers are too scared of their boss and it is bad for business. They are not vibrant. Jonathan’s ministers are more vibrant than Buhari’s ministers because they are too scared.

‘ This obsession with they stole our money, is too much. We know Jonathan did not do anything that’s why we sacked him. So Buhari, do your own.

‘If the gods cannot improve our lives they should please maintain it. If you are hungry you will grumble, and I am hungry.’
When asked if he would one day run for the presidency, he said:

‘I have a theory: The last thing you lose is hope. If Nigeria wants to put me as president, so be it. If not they can go elect a new Buhari or a new Jonathan.

‘When I ran, even the media was against me. If Atiku a customs officer runs they will make front page. If a police officer wants to run they will make front page, but a publisher? If it is my destiny, then I will one day be president , otherwise my life will be expiring soon, I am 56 today and in 14 years I will be 70.’
Chief Dele Momodu is one of the people who campaigned for Buhari in the last presidential elections.

Sometimes one automatically has no choice than to insult some people.
So Dele momodu expects Buhari to give ministers free hand to go raiding the treasury as happened under the ineffectual fisherman?Never! That wud not happen!
Dele momodu should also stop all these his rants. If he was expecting any appointment from PMB,he has shown severally, since the list of ministers came out, that he doesn't deserve any.

The Buhari dictatorial system of govt is just to scary to his ministers to cope with, I am sure if any new development/fresh ideas comes in, if Mr president is not around, his ministers/ handlers would not be able to implement it, Mr Buhari should try as much as possible to give them a free hand to carry out their day to day running of their ministeries.

If by not being vibrant he means they are not in the news and tabloids for extra-ministerial reasons, and abuse of office, then yes.

We don't need controversial and scandal ridden public servants at this time . Let them be boring but very effective. We don't mind.

Who did their vibrancy benefit? Jonathan and the thief ministers. Where did their vibrancy lead Nigeria to? Corruption of inestimable proportion.
When a cock crows before dawn know that something is wrong. For Dele to opine this in the face of revelations of corruption of gargantuan proportion, at this early stage of forensics on Jonathan's reign, then something is definitely wrong somewhere.
I will wager, confidently, that Momodu must have swallowed a piece of our missing yam before dawn.

And where did Jonathan's vibrant ministers get us? We had a vibrant oil minister who was very vibrant with non remittance of oil revenues into the federation account, we also have very vibrant with national security adviser who was very vibrant in sharing monies meant to purchase arms to fight boko Haram. We also had a very vibrant interior minister who was vibrant scamming unemployed youth with non existent jobs and killing some in the process. Yes Jonathan's ministers were very vibrant in looting indeed.

Who did their vibrancy benefit?

- The middle class, which experienced remarkable growth under Jonathan.

- The tech startups which were given the friendly environment to expand and innovate. From HotelsNG to Spark Media, IrokoTV to Gamsole. It is worthy of note that no single tech startup of significance has grown or even taken off since Buhari came in with his socialist policies. Rather, we've witnessed them downsize.

- The manufacturing sector like Innoson whose growth is well documented to be linked to Jonathan's automobile import duty policy.

Jonathan and the thief ministers. Where did their vibrancy lead Nigeria to?

To the Number 1 position on Africa's list of economies by GDP.

When a cock crows before dawn know that something is wrong. For Dele to opine this in the face of revelations of corruption of gargantuan proportion, at this early stage of forensics on Jonathan's reign, then something is definitely wrong somewhere.

Funny enough, those so-called 'revelations' have not been able to translate to a single court victory or conviction. Rather, we've been inundated with endless propaganda and media trials, from fake stories about Olisa Metuh eating his letter, to the convoluted Dasuki tale of 2.1 billion dollars which quickly changes to 10 billion naira in front of an actual court judge. Hmmm... Slick.

I will wager, confidently, that Momodu must have swallowed a piece of our missing yam before dawn.

Interstingly you didn't wager anything all through last year when he was stanning for APC. Now the music has changed and you remember yams. Look no further than Buhari's budget for clues on 'our' yams.
