How can a General by travelling on roads that were declared closed due to Boko activities?

Even back then, that road was not closed because it is the main road linking Bauchi, Yobe and Borno, don't assume things when you are out of knowledge.

I remember how my dad used 2 caution our earlier drivers wen we travel on highways,...'Take it cooly,so dat we can get 2 our destination on time'. As a lil boy den (who loved speed)I neva understood how u can take it slowly and still get dere on time. But wit time I gat 2 knw dat if u car crashes say in2 a tree (due 2 ova speed),..assuming no casualties,but it will still tk u time 2 board anoda vehicle or repair d damaged one. B4 embarkin on d same journey,..wile d slow n steady may hav gotten 2 his destination n probly chillin wit a v cold beer! Overspeed is bad!

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army has been involved in a ghastly auto crash along Damaturu, Maiduguri road in Yobe State along with some other officers.

One General is confirmed dead with the GOC critically injured. The identity of the dead General is yet to be ascertained.

The military were conveying the injured GOC to Jos, Plateau State for better medical attention.



Yobe State Deputy Governor, Abubakar Aliyu, the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, State Police Commissioner, Zanna Muhammed were among the early sympathisers at the General Sani Abacha Specialist hospital where the victims were brought.
