They should keep coming for the poor. One day, when the poor is fed up, the poor will surely come for them too.

Good direction, plus they need to be included to pay social security tax also for them to have full assess to benefit at their retirement age.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), Mr Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, should tell us how much the artistes, bloggers, politicians who announce their:

- N20 million watch
- N500 million mansion
- N80 million car

are paying as TAX.

That should be his focus as a start to expanding the tax net, not so
How can Linda Ikeji pay N6,000 tax for four years while buying N700 million mansion?
Surely that won't happen in the UK, Canada, USA where we are all running away to born pikin and/or work under-employed as SLAVES.

How can you tax the poor instead of providing them with welfare ?
. It's not about the poor or the rich. It's on percentage, which means that the rich pay more. Afterall 1 percent somebody's is not too much to give to govt.

In Lagos state and the 35 states of Nigeria, the rich pay LESS tax if they pay at all. shocked

My domestic cleaner earns 30k a month and she has a baby. Sometimes I still give her money to pay tfare and loan to pay the kid's school fees. She needs the 300 naira more than Ambode.

If the people don't pay TAX how will they increase their desire to have more accountability from the politicians?
If you pay someone to do a job, you are more likely to ensure he does a good job, not so? Unlike if someone else pays for the job on your behalf such as in Nigeria where we all share the Niger Delta oil revenue and are cool.

The GOVT and the Religious centers are one. Every failure of govt is an opportunity for God to perform a miracle through his holy men.

And Nigerians love miracles, and signs and wonders.

All Churches, Mosques, and shrines SHOULD/MUST pay tax if Lagos is to move forward!

Let all Directors in corporate firms too pay Tax...

It's so painful that over 13,000 is being deducted from my monthly take home (PAYE and Pension) buh the said amount isn't remitted into the Govt purse my by greedy employer... Not just me but the entirety of the staff.

The Govt needs to do smthg abt all organisations within the state.

1. If you work and collect money for work done, you should pay taxes

2. The poor uses public and social infrastructures just like the rest of the society so they should pay taxes.

3. We want good roads, good schools, good hospitals, safe water to drink, safety and security, but we come up with all kinds of ignorant ad absurd reasons to dodge our social responsibilities and civic duties..

4. Folks in developed countries with jobs pay their taxes hence you always admiring their development and world class infrastructures, something you ignorantly refused to do to better your own life and secure a better society and future for your own kids.

You are your own enemy and I hope and pray people like you are not put in any position to manage anything public..

I've always known Ambode was clueless.

Is the N150 tax from the house girl earning 15000 a month worth the expense and effort required to get the N150?

Thinking leaders would look at the lawlessness in Lagos traffic and see the vast opportunity for revenue from fines/parking tickets etc as well as bringing some sanity to our roads, instead Ambode wants to tax housegirls.

What have they been doing with the ones that's been paid? Nigeria is not a country where I will support paying of tax by the poor, like does Ambode pay tax?How about religious organisations? Do the right thing the right way and no one will complain.
