In the next few minutes,  this text will shine the light of Grace into your heart through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  I charge you to water your heart and be expectant.

It seem difficult these days to live a victorious life above sin.  The grip of sin seems to be tighter.  The devil seem to have more subtle tool to play with.  Beautifully crafted devices that appeals to our flesh. The Devil has perfectly engineered the systems of world.. the diluted message from church pulpits,  entertainment,  watery delicacies from so called men of God,  show biz,  Internet and a whole lot of them that seem to fit perfectly to the single "pocket" in the heart that belongs to God making it seem almost impossible to live a victorious above sin.

Like Paul,  we actually hate what we do,  we profess never to repeat them but there is this pull almost like that experienced by gravitation that pulls us down to our sins,   especially those that besets us. 

In Our text lies Jesus,  the perfect solution.  Did he feel what we felt?  Yes!  Was he tempted to Sin?  Yes!  How bad was it... He was so hungry because he hadn't eaten for 40 days... How does this relate to my sinful state?  Fine...He had the urge,   he was hungry... Was it bad to eat?  No.. It was giving in to please Satan that was bad. 

Now,  The hungry state of Jesus depicts our helpless state as men.  The hunger comes to go back to that sin we have left,  the hunger comes to masturbate,  to have premarital sex,  to go back to alcohol,  to smoke,  to go gambling,  to go back into prostitution... this hunger is soo intense.. one would probably die in the next second.  Jesus must be feeling really tired.  Just like we feel helpless.  Then here comes Satan with a nice suggestion.. turn this Stone to bread!!!  what? Stone to bread?  That means make do with the next available source of comfort.  Use that cigarette to calm your nerves.. use that intimacy gadget to calm your urge.. watch that pornography at least it's not outright sin,  play just this single game you may hit a jackpot.. e. t.c

Satan is so short sighted.. he gives a short term solution to a long standing problem.  If Jesus had eaten the "stone" wont He need water?  Its eida the devil suggests that He turns a stick to water this time or He walked patiently to the outskirt to get water which would have solve both problems in the first  place. 

But Satan had a point.. kill this hunger before it kills you.  But dear reader.. The hunger didn't kill you all this while because of God's infinite love for you.  He knows about the urge and how bad it hurts and your feeling about it.  That is why he gave the solution.  THE WORD.

Man shall not live by bread alone.  You know what that means?  Satisfying that urge isn't a means of livelihood. A bottle today doesn't mean you won't need another tomorrow. Sex today doesn't mean you won't need another tomorrow.  You can'tsatisfy that hunger with only Satan's suggested delicacy.  One sure thing... that will permanently satisfy is the Word of God.  Inside it lies Life.  Jesus is the Word.  Come unto me all ye that Labour.. ie all ye that a battling with one sin or the other.. all ye that are fed up of your ill spiritual state.  And I will give you rest.  No more hunger... I will give you rest.  Just confess that sin unto JESUS.  Tell him for He knows how you feel.  He loves you just the way you are.  Don't clean up anything.  Jut come the way you are.  With your hunger and He will fill you.  "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and Just to forgive us" 1 John 1:9. '
The only thing holding you in your sinful state is your choice to say I am sorry to Jesus
