– Ali Ndume, the senate leader urges Nigerian men to take more than one wife – The Senate marks International Women’s Day – The Senate stands down the prayer for Nigerian men to take more than one wife The Senate on Tuesday, March 8 prevents Nigerian men from taking more than one wife in the country. This decision was taken after Ali Ndume, the Senate leader raised it on the floor of the Senate as a prayer while responding to the motion marking International Women’s day. “As a sign of respect and love for the women, urge all men unless the religion prohibits to marry more than one wife,” he said. Although his prayer was stood down, he was seconded by Sulaiman Nazif representing Bauchi north senatorial district.
