I am not sure, but I don't think it is straight forward to sack civil servants that easily. You probably have to use a disciplinary committee and most times they will recommend early retire.

Won't civil service rules allow them to be sacked if found guilty of fraud? What kind of punishment is redeployment? Level 17 will still be receiving high salary and allowances without doing much work.

Complete rubbish!!! Was there any difficulty in sacking the DG? If they are complicit, what they did is a crime so redeployment is utter nonsense and an acceptance of corruption. Go figure!
