NFF Makes U-turn After Threat Of Court Action, Vows To Pay Oliseh, Losciuto by VillageParrot: 8:17pm On Mar 17, 2016
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has made a u-turn from its initial position that it was not owing former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh and his assistant Jean Francois Losciuto.

The Nigerian football body has now vowed to pay up all outstanding salaries owed the former coaches according to a report by Completesportsnigeria.com.

Both Oliseh and his first assistant coach, Jean Francois Losciuto had threatened to report the Nigerian Football Federation to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, CAS, based in Lausanne.

A source informed about the details told SIGNAL on Thursday that Losciuto had written to the NFF on Wednesday giving the football body an ultimatum till Thursday next week to pay up all his outstanding salaries and allowances across a period covered by two years and five months based on his contractual terms with the NFF or face legal action at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, CAS.

Nigeria, just like Zimbabwe risks a ban by FIFA if found guilty. Owing to a similar condition, Zimbabwe was barred in March 2015 by FIFA from qualification matches for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia after missing deadlines to pay former national team coach Jose Claudinei Georgini.

The letter from Losciuto’s lawyers, inside sources say may have forced the NFF to reconsider its initial stance, which claimed it had already paid Oliseh and his assistant all outstanding wages.

Recall that Oliseh who had dared to drag the NFF to court for defamation, on Monday March 14, 2016 released his February 2016 bank statement showing clearly no credit transaction was made by the NFF to his bank account.

In documents made available to SIGNAL on Monday, the former Super Eagles coach added evidence of how he spent his personal funds on the feeding of the home based Super Eagles who were neglected by the NFF during the CHAN tournament camping in South Africa.

Completesportsnigeria.com also reports that the outstanding allowances owed the Super Eagles players who starred in the World Cup preliminary encounter against Swaziland over two legs in November 2015 will also be paid.
