I don't give a rat's a$s where you reside! So 999 calls are limited only to Nigeria? DUMB ASS. You think your locale makes you better than anyone here? - its primitive thinking. Your brain cells won't develop without that beans I offered. Get your a$s back and get in line.
presido1:

I have never used a Nigeria Mobile network more than 3 weeks before.
Guess primitive Nigeria is too advanced for you.

the viper:

@MUZBO, dont be in a hurry to praise urself or see urself with a bigger or better iq. i only agreed with u on that topic cos i found it constructive and objective. i recognise truths and i appreciate them.
@the viper, please get something. I don't just wake up and post here on NL, I probably spend more time researching before I post than @presido spends on porn sites. If you think I'm trying to pass myself off as smarter than @presido then you are right because I am. I only stayed this long on this thread because I perceived him as a tribalist and someone else concurred. Don't know if you noticed but it ceased to be about MKO a long time ago.
I'll never praise myself but I'll continue to acknowledge those that appreciate my little contributions which was what I did to you. Your reply seemed unnecessary but I understand. I also have people I respect here on NL and I'll let them know even though I don't always see eye to eye with them.

Good move jare. I feel Abiola would have been worse than Abacha. If not violence-wise, corruption-wise.
Abiola ko, Abiole ni.

@MUZBO atleat u got some sense of humor.when u said that you spend more than researching than @presido does on porn sites. you really dont know what he does at his spare time,do you? bt i found it a good diversion from the tension that was building here. we all read each others post and we all have heads on our shoulders.we can perceive what what type of mentality that some of us have.there is nothing wrong in praising any1 who has done a good thing and am not one to hide my admiration for good things for i thrive on good and lovely things.you saw why i said that u shouldn'tbe in a hurry to praise urself.i said "dont rub it in on others" we as nigerians shouldnt come here to insult ourselves or make everything ethnic and tribal.we should all be able to learn from each other and that is why am pissed of at people who even go as far as saying f, k all igbos,f, k all biafrans. that wasnt civilized in any form or shape and we all should be able to stand up and condemn such utterances irrespective of where the writer comes from and that was why i went personal on deb. i hate to be rude to people cos i dont tolerate rudeness from others. now look at what is happening in the north.some hoodlums killing others freely and calling themselves AL-QUEDA IN NIGERIA. what gut and balls? these are the same pple that we call brothers and wants to stay tied with them as one country. these are things that should occupy our thoughts and minds, not ethnicity. and i believe that you read my reply very well and understand why it was necessary.so CHEERS AND KEEP POSTING.

At last, Reps endorse bill to immortalise MKO Abiola

Idowu Samuel and Bola Badmus, Abuja - 31.07.2009

AFTER a prolonged rigmarole, laced with ethnic politics, the House of Representatives on Thursday finally endorsed a motion to immortalise the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola by naming the National Stadium, Lagos, after him.

Only last week, the House had vehemently opposed a similar call to immortalise the June 12 symbol as members of the House of Representatives, mostly from the North spoke against it on the claim that the election was annulled by the military regime for a good reason.
Those who opposed the motion argued that if Abiola should be immortalised at all, his opponent in the presidential election, Alhaji Bashir Tofa, should equally be immortalised, including the current President, Alhaji Umaru Yar’Adua.

However, the sponsors of the motion seeking the immortalisation of Chief MKO Abiola had carefully avoided politics by hinging their interest solely on the contributions he made to the progress and development of sports in Nigeria and Africa.

According to the motion supported by 37 members of the House, Abiola deserved to be supported in view of the keen interest he showed in sports, beginning from when he launched a division one football club; Abiola Babes which recorded remarkable achievements both in Nigeria and in Africa.

Presenting the motion, Honourable Friday Itulah from Edo State stressed that a posthumous honour given to Abiola would have a positive effect in encouraging more rich Nigerians to follow in his footsteps by investing in sports.

He urged the Federal Government to name the National Stadium after Abiola on the basis that he was a recognised Pillar of Sports in Nigeria and Africa.

The motion, which was opposed by only one member, was supported with favourable arguments by Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye, Ezeuche Ubani, Umar Kurfi, Aminu Tambuwal, Betty Apiafi and others. Ubani, in his contribution, said Abiola meant so much to sports in Nigeria and that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) named him Pillar of Sports in Africa.

Apiafi mentioned the generosity of MKO, concluding that since many Nigerians benefitted tremendously from his large heart, it would not be out of place for his fatherland to recognise him with a befitting honour, such as naming a national monument after him.

It was the fourth attempt by the pro-Abiola members of the House to get their colleagues to support his immortalisation; the previous attempts were thwarted by members who did not feel that Abiola deserved such an honour.

@MUZBO
Quote from Moshood Fayemiwo

While they were there, because we have to be frank, it was not actually a primary, for those of us who were there, Abiola bought the ticket, because of his money power. Where Ambassador Kingibe was spending N500, N2, 000 to buy delegates, Abiola upped the stakes to N10, 000, N20, 000 per delegate. Unknown to Abiola, Babangida’s agents were filming everything live. They captured everything on tape. For example, Abiola gave N10m cash to Lamidi Adedibu. And the late Adedibu was captured on tape with wads of Naira notes shouting to Oyo State delegates “Eyin ara Ibadan, Owo Abiola ti de”, meaning “Folks from Ibadan, Abiola’s cash has landed” (laughs) openly. You know the man was a political jobber, half-illiterate. And suddenly, delegates for Atiku and Kingibe moved and switched to Abiola. Abiola instructed Kola to increase the stakes to N20, 000 against N500 from the others. It was cash and carry for Abiola. They were all caught on tape and that was the tape that Babangida sent to the State Department here in the United States to justify the annulment among other reasons
