Microblogging site, Twitter has finally stripped several notable persons of their Legacy verification tick.

For several months, the company had hinted at plans to commercialise verification tick.

DAILY POST reports that Twitter on Thursday removed Legacy Blue Tick for prominent persons.


DAILY POST checks on the Twitter handles of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party; 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump; Tony Elumelu, the Chairman of UBA PLC indicated that the verification tick had been removed.

The development affected three hundred thousand verified users who did not pay for the Blue Tick, many of them athletes, musicians, journalists and other public figures.

This one Na old news.... All my sims are locked. My son showed me shege before I started taking that stuff seriously..anytime I load like 3k airtime on my phone before you know it, it has vanished with less than 3 phone calls. First I tried putting password on my phone but it wasn't working. Until I found out that when I am not around, my eldest son would take my phone, bring out my sim card, put it in his phone and transfer all the airtime in it to his own sim.
