stuffs2002: The day SE decided to wipe out the leaders of other regions. Wipe out to achieve what? Some of you are so damn myopic. SE did not wipe out the British who ruled them for decades during colonialism, but they chose to do that with the entire country without any military base in the region, or the population and power to subjugate the entire country. Some of you are just daft to think that that coup was an Igbo coup. Not even the Fulanis some of you dread can openly carry out such an act. Dem no born them reach. But you think Igbos who were well represented in government and military at the time would want to dominate the entire country through force. If that was the case, Ironsi would have moved all military wares to the east and strengthen it. Yet, that would have been foolish. But except, the corrupt west was behind them to destabilise the country. You all need to start thinking for yourselves, honestly. |

ednut1: Nnamdi azikwe was miraculously on a long vacation. Premier of eastern region was not killed. Senate president orizu was not killed. Make i no just talk That coup was not a secret coup. Several military guys from the south west were informed but they declined to join. The crisis in the western regions, and another in the north, necessitated the coup. The likes of FFK's father were corruption personified and was remotely involved in the crisis. And besides, the muteeners' were sympathetic to Awolowo's plight. The coup was carried out to take those men out. It had nothing to do with all politicians or leaders at the time. Try to understand the history based on the context. Nnamdi Azikiwe or any other Igbo leader was not remotely involved in the political crisis of the western regions at the time. |

Godwin4444: y are u Igbos like this for crying out loud?
How many times have we laid that lie to rest that they wanted to free awolowo cos of d coup?
The coup was not about awolowo but Igbos greed for power, so if it was about freeing awolowo, y did nnamdi azikwe n ojukwu had issues about d war he embarked on?
Guy it's Igbos greed to have it all that led to d war n not trying to free awolowo
What's d relationship between awolowo n Igbos that Igbos will go out all their way to kill all those people simply because of one Yoruba man?
So u wanted to free awolowo but killed everyone aside from people from your tribe?
Guy u Igbos can't rewrite history Igbos had it all, so what are you talking about? Whether they formed the alliance with the north or the west, Igbos were well placed and represented in politics and military. So, and with the newly found oil in the eastern region, no other region could have matched them. So, what power do you think they needed? Some of you are just stupid and wicked parroting lies. That coup happened because of Awolowo and nothing else. And the coup wasn't a secret one. Several military men especially in the south west were informed but most declined to join. There was no Igbo conspiracy involved. The crisis in the South west was a concern to a lot of vibrant people, both civilians and military, at a time youths were very vibrant and fighting colonialism and corruption in the African continent. It is not like now that 50yrs old men are stupid and cowardly and do not have any revolutionary ideas. If you want to understand history, you must study and put yourself in the era of those who participated in that history. Don't use you 2025 logic. You won't get it. |

HenryWilliams: Yes he has the right to self defense.. If he chose that path. The Court of Public Reason will find him guilty regardless... To them..as a law enforcement officer, you're not meant to defend yourself against attacks from the public .you're to take any assault head on and not react so as not to draw the ire of Social Media denizens . See how this Gen Z era has totally corrupted our rational way of thinking.. Even if you have disagreement with Police or any uniformed law enforcement officer.. you have no right to lay your hands on him..neither them unless they have probable cause.
In this scenario..no one knows what brought about the altercation..yet the officer showed restraint by not fighting back. To me..that showed character and moral fibre and ought to be commended but hear what some commenters are saying .that he's a weak man ..see how woman is beating him..etc. Had it been he defended himself and engaged the woman ,, the same bastards would be shouting Police brutality and seeking justice by having his head on a stake You are the stupid one if you think millions of citizens are incapable of logic and reasoning. People can recognise when an officer is acting on self defence or is the aggressor. |

The communication is so beautiful and pure. We just share and talk about our daily lives, achievements, spirituality, aspirations, e.t.c. A little naughtiness here and there, but no overt sexuality; no urgent 2k or data sub. It's so beautiful. Their curiousity and interest to learn about Nigeria and our culture and art, is so sensational, too. Omor, I advise every Nigerian guy to date outside naija and experience real love outside. |

Like I told someone above, Igbos thought IPOB should make law for them with Kanu, Ekpa and co being their defacto leaders. Today Igbos are enjoying the lawlessness that is 100% assured when you throw law and order out of the window to replace it with the dictatorial decree of a school drop-outs and an adult who plays with plastic sword who is now in a Finnish jail.
When we are administered regionally, by the grace of God, do as you please in your corner fighting "tyranny" same as lawless Igbos deployed Kanu and Ekpa to help them fight Buhari "tyranny" only to be crying today. Since I realised that we have the cursed children of those who kidnapped and sold their fellow human beings and race into slavery, I don't get surprised seeing those who hate justice and love injustice. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Like Cain, they have the mark of treachery and wickedness like their forebears engraved on their heads. |

YoursDola: Hello nairaland
I bought an orthopedic mattress yesterday and I slept on it last night and I've come to discover that it's too hard for me. It's not bouncy at all, and feels like I'm lying on a rock.
I'm 72kg, and in not suffering from any joint conditions.. I only bought the mattress because it was recommended by the seller as a 'good and durable mattress'
What do I do next? It's just too hard for me to endure and I don't know if it's going to get any better (or get slightly soft so that I can enjoy the mattress
Thank you for reading. You better return it now if you can. Na pure rubbish and you will regret it. P.s. I have a little back issues and so I hated the over soft and bouncy foam I had. I went and bought this semi orthopedic foam that the seller highly recommended for my issue. Omor, the foam hard die. Even sleeping on bare floor is better than this mattress. The annoying part is that I can't move and turn my body. Any spot I lay on, it will go down and then refuse to bounce back once I get up; it takes forever to rise up. I just regret the money I wasted. The sellers are not willing to take it back sef. The foam is already wavy and uneven; the centre has almost collapsed. I will soon get another but just skeptical so that I don't buy rubbish again. |

Omoawoke: A world where people have lost their humanity and sanity and everything “it”
All because of politics.
Children died in Ibadan and I read some of the most inhumane comments from people online. Some were actually celebrating the death of others! Like, they were celebrating!! All because of politics!
Another sad news today where people died in Anambra, people actually died! Humans like you lost their lives, people’s parents, friends, sisters, aunties and uncles died and it became a score counting contest.
To me both are barbaric and it doesn’t make sense.
But looking at this, I will be very direct with no filter. The normal Yorubas I know will never ever have mocked Igbos on Anambra incidence, but I saw the mockery coming and totally unavoidable…. When some bigots with dead brain cells made a mockery of an entire tribe over the death of kids, the clap back would definitely come. You provoke people to hate you ! You provoke people and invite enemies on yourself. Even nature will be unkind to you.
But I plead with my southwest brothers, please, this is not a moment to count scores, we are talking of human lives here. Those that died and are suffering the pains right now don’t know tribe or politics anymore! Yorubas and gaslighting, tueh! Thank God for the internet, Una for use Una Lagos Ibadan lying news media take finish us. |

Originalsly: Africa's worst enemy is a Colonialised African. Seun Kuti is on point.......100%. ...the Colonialised mind cannot see it ... but will support what Kemi said. Our leaders ... the same ... striving for Whiteness .... success is measured by how close you are to Whiteness in terms of what they consider to be successful. And we be wondering why our politicians are so greedy... corrupt ..always finding or creating an avenue to loot ... never caring about the masses ... why the Pastors be living in luxury off the meagre earnings of their congregation... dashing them crumbs every blue moon ... bosses exploiting their employees etc .... all with one common goal ... to bring themselves closer to Whiteness ... the means to get there doesn't matter ... just get to the end ...by any means necessary...even to the detriment of your own people. Even the poor ...have the same mentality ... as we can clearly see in those who bleach ... another way of moving closer to Whiteness .
Nothing goes unnoticed in this world .... if she was not born in the UK .. she can be deported...very possible that she can be back in Nigeria. You need to take your drugs judiciously. |
