victory36: china has low population growth. High population growth is one of the issues hindering African development. This is not the 17th century where one needs his own children to labour on his farm. The world is not suffering population issues, the world is suffering from bad leadership and greed. There is enough technology to make enough food available for all, but for eugenics like Bill Gates who don't like the idea.. |

Salewa97: This is the kind of statement that sends shivers down the spines of Tinubu's enemies.
They can’t fathom the audacity and success of a man who has defied all odds to claim his rightful place as the leader of Nigeria.
Let them keep talking while Jagaban continues to reign supreme!
The throne isn’t just a seat; it’s a testament to hard work, strategy, and the relentless spirit of a true Nigerian.
God bless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Long live the Jagaban! You are not looking beyond your nose. Tinubu the strong man will not reign forever, and the repercussions of his actions will come and bite yorubas in the ass in the future. If the Igbos can suffer for over 50yrs for an action of few Igbo soldiers, don't think that same can not happen to the yorubas. As it stands, you just have only the north as allies. And if that is severed, you will be in hot soup. So be very careful. |

LegendHero: Fayose is right in the explanation he gave.
How can you give birth to 12 children and marry 4 wives while earning less than 50k.
It is either Fayose is exaggerating or that man in question have mental problem.
They should look for the man and organize a divorce ceremony for him to rid him of his burden.
If a man like that complain of hunger, they should tie him to the stake and flog him. China has a billion people, yet they are not blaming their population. The north is not backward because they are too populated, but it is because of leadership issues. That 12 children a singular northerner has is a big blessing if harnessed for farming and manufacturing. North has everything to develop themselves, except poor leadership and religious extremism. |

Goodvibes007: Anarchy. Why do you need to trample on the rights of other road users. When law enforcement moves the barrier now, they will start complaining. Have you seen when politicians are doing major campaigns and rallies? Roads are often blocked with their convoys and campaign trains. Nobody complains and stops them. The people who endure when politicians suffer them, should equally endure when protesters make them uncomfortable for a moment. |

Zwooks: I'm a farmer. As I write, I am in a farm settlement where I reside fully since last year. I am critiquing as a stake holder not an outsider. Farmers these days want to take advantage of buyers which was never the case in the days of our fore fathers. I am a farmer too, and I am living in Bayelsa state. Trust me, security of farmers and their crops are the number one problem. Even as a man these days, I am frightened when I see another man or woman passing through my farm when I am working on it. Once I notice anyone coming, I will wait until the person pass the farm. If it is an unknown face, I will be very cautious for the rest of that day, because there have been stories of killings and attempted murders of people on their farmlands, sometimes by yahoo ritualists and also criminals. There is also the constant stealing of farm produces. Just last week, one woman was caught in my area for stealing someone's cassava. Several instances of theives, both men and women, have been caught and publicly disgraced for harvesting people's crops. Farmers in my place can't harvest mature plantains again because of theives. They don't wait until it is fully mature, because if you do, thieves will just go and cut it. These cases were not rampant until recent years. All these contribute to the cost of foodstuffs. |

I will wait until they publish the whole details of the company and its registration number, corporate address, name and signature of Registrar of Companies in Malta (that signed the incorporation documents), and the address etc. before I believe. Nigerians are very good at creating and spreading lies, rumours and conspiracy theories. Like someone rightly pointed out, oando bought the assets of Unipetrol, Agip and Conoco Phillips when Bola Tinubu was nowhere the presidency. So buying ENI's Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) upstream assets should not be a big surprise.
But Tinubu's government has been very clueless, corrupt, incompetent, a disappointment and big failure, hence it is easy for people to believe this kind of news. gboun. |

gidgiddy: The death of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, is a big blow to all Igbos. Iwuanyawu was highly successful businessman and political leader. He raised many from the depth of despair. Without his now defunct football club, Iwuanyanwu National, many would not have know who Nwankwo Kanu is. When Imo State wanted to build an Airport through public donations, he was amongst the largest contributors . Chief Iwuanyanwu fought in the Biafran war on the side of his people and was at one time head of the Biafran Army Engineers corpse. He continued his career as an Engineer after the war, founding a construction company called Hardel constructions. Iwuanyanwus business empire would grow to over 20 different companies
He aspired three times to be Presidential nominee of various political parties, including PDP, but failed. He remained a Chieftain of PDP for many years. When he retired from politics 3 years ago, he was beckoned to become Ohanaeze President after the sudden death of the incumbent President, Prof George Obiozor. Chief Iwuanyanwu passed away three days ago after a brief illness, aged 82
The Igbo nation has lost a rare gem
RIP Ahaejiagamba! I perceive a conspiracy in his death. This corntree is an evil forest, and anything is possible in this zoo. |

Politics › Re: Cement: How Dangote Offended Tinubu by 2elliot: 7:11pm On Jul 23, 2024 |
Biodun556: Dave Umahi convinced Tinubu that concrete road is better than road constructed with bitumen that it last longer and cheaper. Then, a bag of cement was around 3,500 and 4,500.
Tinubu proposed construction of Lagos Calabar coastal highway and passed it in the budget. As soon as the project is about to start, dangote and other cement manufacturers met and increased the price of cement to 10,000 Naira from 4,500 naira. That is more than 100% price hike within few days .
Tinubu summoned dangote to Aso rock and demanded, why the sudden increase in the Price of cement. Dangote could not give any reason, he blamed the price hike on demand. Tinubu made it known that all the cement raw materials are locally sourced and wonder why they increased the price. Then he advised the price be reviewed.
Till now, no significant decrease in the price of cement and the this affects the price of road projects budgeted by the government.
Now, dangote is calling the Tinubu government to stop importation of refined fuel to assist local refineries and Tinubu turned deaf hears.
My take
Nigeria stop importation of rice to assist local rice producers when bag of rice was 10,000 naira. After importation was stopped Nigerian rice producers increased price from 10,000 naira to 30,000 naira per bag, then 50,000, and now 70,000 naira per bag. If you asked them, they will blame high demand.
Definitely if importation of fuel is stopped, local refiners will hold meetings again and start milking Nigerians with habitrary increase in fuel price.
Should dangote even demand for stoppage of importation of refined oil in the first place? After all he is exporting his refined oil and making money. This is mind opening and educative. For the first time, I love your post. Great points made. |

But fools like you made it an issue by claiming "blood is thicker " when Ned floated he's stupid proposal.

For the records, Yorubas don't owe Igbos anything.
