Everything in the bible can be interpreted in 1 million ways. Yeah people choose to interpret things in ways most suitable to them or their view points, and yes, there are quite a few men in the bible who had little respect for women but you need to understand that these were men just like us (like 50caliber) and men are naturally created to be domineering.

If you take your time to study the bible and read through it, you're gonna realize that it's only a matter of time before you're able to interpret it to suit your situation. If you don't swallow everything being taught in religious places hook, line and sinker, then you'll understand that the bible in itself isn't sexist.

The same chapter that talks about women submitting to the man also talks about men loving their wives. Ironically, only a few go further in that chapter, most will stop after the submissive part. How many of the men these days love their women the way it used to be in the past? If you love the woman the way you should and the way the bible commanded, i can bet that hardly will you find a woman who would revolt against such a man.
