If John gets into a government parastatal and brings a recommendation later from Tinubu to get a contract, he is most likely to get the contract because the DG of that parastatal wants to find favour with Tinubu. So what happens is that they all disengage DUE PROCESS and probably give the job to an unqualified company. This is a typical example of corruption and thousands of cases like this are happening in different formats in Nigeria today causing the nation to lose billions of naira. So when we conclude that stealing is corruption we move too fast to overlook the process involved and chase the man only who stole the money leaving a huge decay of our institutional practices. This was the mind of a great former president who saw and decided that to fight corruption is to pay less attention to the stolen money but most importantly BLOCK THE LOOPHOLES!

Almost 10 months since Buhari took over the federal government all we have seen him do is chase after those who STOLE monies. But why blame him? The poor man has been made to believe a lie (or half truth) by the malicious elites that the corruption Nigeria needed to fight is JUST stolen funds, forgetting that the real corrupt practices are what the new president should focus on while spending minimal time chasing after the stolen funds. Yes! This was their assertion when they scorned a wise man -the great GEJ.

When Former President Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan made the remarks 'STEALING IS NOT CORRUPTION' The opposition took it out of contest and twisted what he was trying to say. So when the opposition mocked the former president they indirectly sealed a wrong idea that stealing alone IS what corruption was all about. Because following GEJ's remark will make the people turn their search light from the stolen monies to those practices that GEJ would rather call corruption.

Today with all the monies Buhari has spent time tracing around the world and recovered the status quo has not changed; with all the 'corrupt thieves' he has so far caught more thieves are coming up to rape the decayed institutions.

There is only one way out: This administration must bow to GEJ's assertion and chase the real corruption which is not the money stolen but the PROCESS by which the money is being stolen.

At the end of Buhari's tenure, he will be surprised that the corruption under him will surpassed all previous administrations.
