Donald Rumsfeld Resigns! by naijarikan(m): 9:04pm On Nov 08, 2006 |
Less than 24hrs after we showed George Bush what we think of him and his cronies at the polls, the defence secretary Rumsfeld has resigned. Next stop: Ms Condi Rice |

Odeku: If you don't mind me asking, new beginning to what?. Do you honestly think the economy or unemployment would get any better. You'll just wait and see, it's a matter of time before Nancy Pelosi and her San francisco liberal ideas start spreading then you'll be sorry DEMS are in control of the House. |

Odeku: New ideas? I'd love to see how the new fellow would end the Iraq fiasco without a PR disaster. Let's face it. Rumsfeld achieved all he set out to achieve, so the way was clear for him to leave the stage. This resignation has been on the cards for over a year. Forget that it coincided with the defeat in the House. At the end of the day, the true winners of the Dubya presidency has been big business, just the way Rumsfeld and Cheney wanted it. . . |

Ronald McDonald Rumpsfelt is to the Iraq war what Secretary of Defense McNamara was to the Viet Nam war - a bumbling bureaucrat who sat in Washington sending more and more young Americans to go and face enemy fire while justifying the blood-letting with long-winded speeches, only to realize after thousands were consumed by war that the whole adventure was ill-advised from the get-go. 1 Like |

lafile: US is not Nigeria. First, elected officials are held accountable for their actions in US congress. Second, its clear the election is a referendum on the war in Iraq. People are tired of losing their loved ones in an unnecessary war. Rumsfeld and Cheney were the architect of this war without planned exit strategy. Saddam has been captured and recently convicted. Its time for the US soldiers to leave Iraq. They are gunning for Cheney next. The $9 billion missing from Iraq fund must be accounted for. Halliburton contracts must be reviewed. There will be a lot of subpoena and questions. People must be held accountable. Thats what voters want and the Dems will deliver. |

Ynot: KPOM! X5 Mr Bush has been running this country like his family business. This is what you get when one party controls the White House, the senate, and congress. Now there is going to be checks and balances. Rumsfeld 'resigning' is a political move by the republicans in order to save face otherwise the democrats would be hauling his ass into congress to answer a lot of questions. |
