From the CCT Judgement against Senate President Bukola Saraki today, some salient facts are visible.


The Presiding Judge, Danladi Umar stutered throughout his way while delivery the entire judgement thereby questioning the reliability of the judgement ‎he delivered as though it was written and just handed over to him to deliver

The rather terrible delivery of the judgement leaves more to question


One must be fair: what is good for the goose is good for the gander. How can Section 3D of the CCB and CCT act that has been used to acquit numerous other public holders like Tinubu and led to the withdrawal of the CCT Case against Orubebe amongst others, now be turned on its head in this case of Saraki.


Recently Newspapers were awash that the acquittal of Tinubu was made in error as ‎argued by the prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Jacobs and the same thing was alluded to and agreed to by Danladi Umar leading to a simple case of Self Indictment... Should such mind be the judge in a case like this?‎

Section 3d of the CCB Act which states expressly that

(d) receive complaints about non‐compliance with or breach of this Act and where the Bureau considers  it necessary to do so, refer such complaints to the Code of Conduct Tribunal established by section 20 of  this Act in accordance with the provisions of sections 20 to 25 of this Act:  


Provided that where the person concerned makes a written admission of such breach or noncompliance, no reference to the 

Tribunal shall be necessary...

why is it this now being used against Saraki


Clearly and Evidently, this Section wasn't followed and you can't have something on nothing; you can't try someone when you have flouted the laid down rules yourself.


‎Based on the above, the Bureau and Tribunal have committed a gross act of procedural error by not following the condition precedent. Yet the CCT revels in this clearly showing that more and more political machinations than meets the eye and enormous pressures on Danladi Umar are at ‎play here.‎ Today they are using it against Saraki to score political point, tomorrow it might be against anyone

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) today in Abuja dismissed and threw out an application brought by embattled Senate President Bukola Saraki challenging its jurisdiction to try him. Mr. Saraki's lead defense lawyer, Kanu Agabi, had filed a motion seeking to stop and quash the charges of false assets declaration against the senator. Mr. Agabi had repackaged some of the issues earlier decided on by the Supreme Court, which had upheld the propriety of Mr. Saraki's trial. The senator's lawyer sought to use some technical legal maneuvers to tie the hand of the tribunal. In his submission, Mr. Agabi argued that the failure of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to invite Mr. Saraki to confront him with the breaches and non-compliance in his assets declaration form was fatal to the validity of the charges. The lead prosecution counsel, Rotimi Jacobs, described the defense lawyer's motion as unfounded, frivolous, absurd and a clear case of abuse of court process. He, therefore, asked the court to dismiss the motion. While throwing out the application, the chairman of the tribunal, Justice Umar Danladi, said that the case was properly within the purview of the tribunal to hear. He indicated that the tribunal wasu now ready to proceed with the senator's trial. Mr. Saraki has hired the services of 80 lawyers, among them, 10 Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), to represent him at the trial. :

3years from this tragic incidence you get robbed again by another Set of thieves and this time, they rape not just your Sisters but your mother and all the Ladies in your household. And again the police beat expectations by arresting and arraigning this crooks.
So would you ask the Judge to acquit this crooks since they acquited the first crooks that raided your house and committed similar crimes?

At times i do not blame politicians for stealing but i blame people like the op. Imagine what someone suffering the pain of bad roads, no electricity, poor medical and educational institutions is saying. If convicted he will go to jail but you can choose to go visit him.
