WHAT IS PROSTATE CANCER .

Prostate cancer is an abnormal growth of cell found in your prostrate gland. It is the most common cancer in men in some part of the world.

Your prostate gland lies at the base of your bladder and is about the size of a wallnut. The main function of prostrate gland is to produce fluids that makes up part of your semen.

WHERE CAN PROSTRATE BE FOUND?

Prostate glands are found around the surroundings of your urethra device- the tube that carries urine from your bladder and passes it out through the penis as waste. If your prostate gets larger it can cause blockage of the bladder making it difficult to pass out urine.

About 35,000 men are diagnose with cancer every year especially in the UK. Prostate cancer is common among men ranging from age 65 and above.

Prostate cancer is different from other cancerous cells because small growth of cancer inside the prostate gland are very common and can be harmless for many years. However this cells usually grow slowly and for many men never cause any harm. It is observed that one in 8 men may have cancer cells in their prostrate at some pint in their lives.

In other men however, the cells may grow more rapidly. Some times the cells may spread outside the prostrate gland to other part of the body and forms a new tumor called the secondary tumor. The spread of cancer to form tumors is called Metastasis. And can also spread to the bones.

SYMPTOMS OF PROSTATE CANCER.

When your prostate becomes enlarged you may likely begin to feel certain symptoms of prostate cancer. This symptoms are similar to those produced by common benign(non cancerous) condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia. Here are the symptoms you may experience.

A sudden need to pass urine
Difficulty passing urine
Frequent urination
Waking up several times at night to pass urine
Blood in ur urine or semen
sharp pain when passing urine
Erectile dysfunction(difficulty in getting an erection)
If Prostate cancer spreads to other parts of the body, here are the likely symptoms you may experince;
