Italian Serie A club Udinese Calcio have bolstered their squad ahead of the 2021-2022 season with the signing of Nigeria-eligible defender Destiny Udogie, informs the official website of the Bianconeri.

The 2002-born left-back arrives at Udinese on a season-long loan from Hellas Verona, with an option to buy inserted into the contract.

Regarded as one of the top young talents in Italy, Udogie has represented his country of birth at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 levels.

He was an influential member of Italy's squad to the 2019 U17 World Cup, starting four of their five matches during the tournament in Brazil with a goal and assist to his name.

Predominantly a fullback, he is comfortable playing as a left winger, defensive midfielder and central midfielder.

Last season, he appeared in six Serie A matches, including games against the two Milan clubs, Napoli and Atalanta.

Udogie will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of Isaac Success, Odion Ighalo, William Troost-Ekong and Uche Agbo who earned moves to Watford after initially signing for the Little Zebras.

Everton are closing on a deal for Sunderland teen Francis Okoronkwo.

The Daily Mail says Everton have swooped to sign Sunderland striker Okoronkwo after agreeing a deal worth up to £1million for the highly rated 16-year-old.

The teenager caught the eye for the Under-18s last season and several top-flight clubs were chasing the 6ft 3ins frontman.

Sunderland were determined to keep Okoronkwo but Everton have persuaded the player to move to Goodison Park, where he will enter their academy once the transfer is ratified by the Premier League.

The Black Cats, now under the ownership of Swiss trust-fund billionaire Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, included the schoolboy in the group that travelled to Wembley for their EFL Trophy Final victory in March, a move that was intended to incentivise him in committing his future to the club.

Oga did Liverpool loan him out with an option to buy, yes or no?

Do u think Wolfsburg would have agreed to sell Osimhen if that option wasn't given at the start? Both situations are completely different.

I already answered you.... Liverpool isn't Wolfsburg... They (Wolfsburg) most likely would have agreed to sell him either way. The last time I checked, they could have decided not to sell him after his loan spell at Chareloi even with the option to buy clause

That's not true, a club can't reject an "option to buy" or "obligation to buy" fee, only the player can.

So Wolfsburg could have decided to go against a contract they signed See how u don't even want to admit the simplest thing just to be right.

I kind of get humility's point. Apart from Akpoborie I don't remember too many Nigerian players especially strikers who have done well in the Bundesliga. However as you rightly noted if offers are not coming in from French teams then there's nothing he can do but make do with the cards he has been dealt. I think Taiwo really needs a patient coach who will try and bring out his best footballing traits.

Only their two??

What that league did to Chinedu Obasi career is still fresh in my mind,

Victor would had gone same way, if he had not leave, so any of our players moving to the German League is a no no for me, otherwise they were born and bred in Germany

Agreed with your point on France. They even have a regiment called the Foreign Legion where foreigners can sign up and serve with the French army.

Yes they did fairly well but it hasn't been quite mind blowing in comparison to our guys who went to England, France and Italy. Spain has been the most challenging top 5 league for our strikers. Off the top of my head can't remember any of our forwards who did well in La Liga except Christopher Ohenhen.

I hear you but I feel he needs somewhere less high profile and close to his comfort zone to rediscover his form. A return to Granada in Spain would be ideal in my opinion.
