It's high time Nigeria won a world cup or get to the semi-final. We are a footballing Nation and we deserve it. We are the first African country to win a FIFA organized tornament in 1985. We have won everything at youth level. We are the highest ranking African team in history (1994 eagles were 5th best in the world). Apart from eto we are the only African country with a 20 goal striker in the Italian league (Simmmy nwankwo). The most expensive African player is a Nigerian (Victor Osimhen).
The first African to play for Chelsea is a Nigerian (Celestine Babayaro). The highest scoring African in the fa cup is a Nigerian (Kelechi iheanacho).
There is a Nigerian kid called Francis dada in Bayern youth team. We have our wonder kids like Akinkunmi Amoo waiting to explode.
We have the histi, pedigree and culture to do it. We only need to believe in ourselves.
WE CAN DO IT

After all Ahmed Musa once went toe to toe with Messi and proved himself. It's high time we fullfiled our potential and won the world cup

We need to win AFCONs too lol. Its hard stake a claim as being the giant of football on this continent when the Cameroonians and Egyptians are ahead of us. We have alot of catch-up to do!

In the end, the experience of chellini and bonucci 35 and 36 led Italy to another European cups. Tomorrow, Nigerians will reject the idea of our own experienced ighalo and victor moses. Rohr whatever you're doing, victor moses and ighalo needs a recall ASAP

You didn’t put it well ,yes you said we need to win afcon

But I don’t think we can say a team is currently ahead of one because of afcon title

What can Rohr do if both men have expressed their desire to retire from international football? Didn't Rohr reach out to Igahlo not too long ago?

Unrelated news:

We face the Argentines tonight in another buildup, exhibition match for the Olympics. The Argentines are a basketball powerhouse, one of the favorites and have consistently performed well on the international scene.

Stop the noise please.

It's just recently we even started having consistent players. The England team, Amaju Pinnick and his homebased hype should have taught you the vital lesson that you do not win by shouting "we can we can" because you'll only increase the extent of your heartbreak.

We simply need to focus on building a team and stop pursing to have the highest number of star players. We have good players already. We just need to play games together and build a strong force. A good team is better than a star studded eleven.

Kane had a decent game IMO. Yes he might not have troubled the Italian backline but his hold up play was effective in bringing other players into the game his role in that first goal can't be ignored. SG truth be told cost them with his negativity. Should have brought Rashford and Grealish on earlier to get at the Azzuris. England still lack that effective midfield controller. If only Scholes was 20 years younger.

Well i expected more. Besides its a final. Decent performance is below par for such an outing. GS probably left him on so he can play a pk. Henderson and DCL are good pk takers, but.... Smh

Iffai hear any Mount talk here, i fit para o. grin

Can't even believe its the same Emerson thats on Chelsea Bench that's playing like na him be the regular.(another angle about chance vs club and Country form)

Scholes would have reduced the tempo the Italians played. Lampard would have switched on his Superman Mode to equal or outdo the energy. Gerrard would have given the lazy pair of Kalvin and Rice some tackling jobs to do.

No one is against experience but they only get to play if they are better. There is no defender in Italy better than Bonucci. That is why he is playing.

We have better attackers than Ighalo, so he should not be selected ahead of them.

Flop in Argentina,
He can't do it outside Barcelona
Wi-Fi doesn't connect outside camp nou
He let his teammates down with his penalty against Chile
Brazil would destroy them
He would not win an international Trophy till he dies
FRAUD

STORY CHANGED
You can't compare the euros to Copa America
How many world cups have come from South America
Copa is held every year
Brazil and Neymar fixed the match for him to win
Who is there in South America apart from Ecuador and Bolivia
Iheanacho deserves the ballon d or than him

Who are the "Tested and Trusted?"

Sterling will disappoint you.

Harry Kane shouldn't have gone first.. that was the mistake

Penalty shootout isn't about who can play the best penalties... It's about who is the most composed under pressure.

Imagine Jorginho missing a penalty because of the pressure. Henderson was there, why was he subbed? Stones too?

Rashford cannot do anything

He doesn’t deserve to go to this tournament at first

Rashford is fast.

His speed alone could have been used to torment exasperated teams at the end of games.

Personally, I felt England's bench were far stronger than their starting lineup except for some players like Walker, Kane and Sterling. That midfield of Philips and Rice wasn't the best. Rashford and Sancho shouldn't have been warming bench throughout. Reece James is better than Trippier even at LB. Kane should have never played up to 90 minutes in any game. Even Saka should not have had up to half the minutes someone like Foden should be having.

I feel like Southgate prefers loyal players he can control to better players that wants to do their own thing. His defensive playing style requires this kind of strategy to survive. He knows he can't tell Rashford or Foden to sit back and defend for a full half, and that's why he can't use them.

Chukwueze that Algerians caged twice? The same Algeria that Moses annihilated? Moses has destroyed Algeria, Cameron, Mali, Ivory Coast, ethiopia and most importantly won an ANC (on his 1st attempt)

If Awoniyi performs well in pre-season, I feel like he can break into their team. Once Liverpool sell Origi and maybe Shaqiri, he has a solid chance of claiming a spot for himself at least as a sub in games. From there, he can keep on improving.

With that same mentality, we can confidently say that Seferovic is better than Gnabry, Sane, Werner etc because he scored two goals against France that defeated Germany.
