Aribo have been struggling from my observation
Maybe I will check the stats to cross check my view
Definitely not struggling. Maybe he’s not been optimal but he’s been involved in nearly all our chances and goals.

Simon the worst player on the pitch?

Omoh no use that site again
It's sofascore actually.
Moses has lost the most balls and missed the only big chance of the game plus all his 6 crosses didn't meet the target, sofascore deducts points for those.

If Ejuke catch this Egyptian Wingback eh. Somehow they respect and recognize Ndidi and Nacho's superiority here. If Onyeka kon start nko? Or Iwobi?

Nice display from Awo so far. If you see no balls, terrorize the defenders.

yes he can. He is a hardwork and team player as well
He has worked very hard troubling that Egyptian defense and making it difficult for them to play from the back.

Like Jay Jay in the studio said of Awoniyi
'if you find out that a game is not going your way, make yourself a nuisance. Awoniyi is selfless. He has worked hard for the team'

Awoniyi has been impressive, his movement is causing the Egyptian defence problem.

He is simply roughing them up and aggresively telling them he doesn't eat pasta and potatoes but POUNDED YAM

That is because Nigeria hasn't been attacking Egypt from Chukwueze's wing, all our attacks is from left. Do you know why?

Because Salah is always stationed forward, Simon will always get one-on-one against the Egyptian wingback.

I expect Egypt to change their formation in the 2nd half.

Agreed. 2nd half though, draw more players to chukwueze, Aina/aribo tries to locate Simon if Na nogo area, in all, ensure they keep the ball and win loose ones. They in the lead, no loose balls necessary unless anywhere two yards near our 18. Then we sonto... lool

Like Forgiveness once said, maybe Pinnick intentionally appointed the oyinbo guy before the AFCON so there won't be any clamor for making Eguavoen full time coach irrespective of the team's performance. Based on the 1st 45 minutes, we have seen aggression, confidence. The chains have been unshackled and you can see even Simon putting up MOTH performance. Simon finally able to cross!!!!! Even if we lose this match (God forbid) Eguavoen has given us what we have been asking for a very long time just in this half.

He has passed the first hurdle. The second will be his substitutions, while third is managing being a goal down

Ekong dey pass die... Na only confidence e dey quick lack. I hope he maintains this confidence.

Iheanacho has proved to be our most clinical player and he has eye for that last pass to set up his fellow striker.

Moses Simon has been a menace destroying the Egyptians.

All in all they have really impressed me today

Quality post my good sir.

komekn:
I can't BELIEVE my eyes but we are dominating Egypt we keep breaking up their play ,we are not allowing them to play their game.

And we have blocked of the supply route to Salah.

KC is having a lot of influence in the midfield with the HIGH PRESS.

Substitutions will be crucial you cannot keep this high tempo for 90 minutes , players will get tired . So who comes in is very important.

We have overcome technicality , with the high press , work rate, physicality, aggression. Sometimes playing a highly rated opponent brings out of the best in Nigeria.

Also I see more of the GIDIGBO spirit we no be Oyibo.

Thank you Eguavon for making us remember who WE ARE.

Ejuke would had done better at this game

I disagree you need players who are highly disciplined with a high work rate to keep up the high press.

We absolutely need to score another goal , because Egypt will come back at us.

The last 20 minutes when player fatigue sets in very CRUCIAL who we bring in.

Egypt has already made 3 substitutions they are already climbing up hill

For those criticizing simon
I feel you guys are just saying it out of bias.

His crossing may not be that accurate, but he has successfully bullied egypts defence and made runs.

I didn't really fancy Moses Simon but I was always cautious because I knew Rohr was playing him out of position.

The first time I watched him for Gent against Tottenham in the champs league, the boy was so menacing from the LW that the commentators were singing his praises, but the Franco-German bingo came in and said no, I must turn you to a semi defender through the RW.

cheesy cheesy

You be really rohr tormentor

Nigeria is the team that has played the best football in this AFCON so far.
For those that rated us 10th in this tournament, all I have to say is WELCOME TO THE AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS
