The question remains, "does he have the prerequisites to thrive in such a high demanding club at this stage of his career"? I would rather he stayed where playing opportunities are assured than to a club that could stunt his growth due to lack of opportunities.

Chill Chris... Chill. Bassey so far have handled the pressures of big stage games in Europe and for a historic side like Rangers of Scotland.
On his Super Eagles debut, he also didn't cower. I trust this is a kid who can handle most, if not all, of what is thrown at him.

Also, LCB is the role he will be given if the Ajax deal pulls through. That is where Lisandro Martinez played for the majority of last season and with him joining Man Utd, Bassey is seen as his natural replacement.

Bassey interprets the LCB role effortlessly. Has the confidence and technical abilities to keep making a name for himself in the role alongside his alternate LB and LWB roles.


Mind you, Ajax is not the only club interested. Brighton have also made contact but Ajax's coach have held discussions with the lad already.

Show some trust in Calvin Bassey Ughelumba. He is going to the top.

Highly cerebral, Powerful, pacy, quick feet, high workrate, eye for the linesbreaking pass, defensively sound, offensively threatening and more. What a player.

I cried out her name after that loss to SA. I knew Randy was drunk on cheap strong rum benching a midfielder that practically bossed a midfield against the Reigning Olympic Champs, Canada in April earlier this year.

Honestly, it's wonderful finally seeing her proving us right. 21 yrs old and already our best Central Midfielder heading to the 2023 Women's World Cup.
