Very impressive full debut.

Clumsy, but effective.

I didn't know Awoniyi was this strong until I saw him continously bully Kurt Zouma in aerial duels. And I consider Zouma one of the strongest CBs phsyically in the Prem.

His physicality might not be as futile as I previously thought.

Taiwo adding to Forest's history

His goal was Nottingham Forest's first EPL Goal at their home ground since 1999.

And also his first in the prem.

Beautifully poetic.

Fun Facts:

- Awoniyi has scored Nottingham Forest's first Premier League goal since 1999; 23 years shocked

- Awoniyi is the first Nigerian to score a premier league goal for Nottinghan Forest

His style doesn't look orgasmic but dude has led the lines well, and he is a complete bully. No defender will like to mark him for 90minutes. Awoniyi

Generally, this Forest side has shown good work-rate. If they could sustain/maintain this steem, especially with the imminent arrival if Denis and Aouar, they would still be playing in the EPL come next season.

The nff should try and reach out to atalanta’s young centre back Caleb memeh okoli

Kid is a beast and very good on the ball. already an Italian u21 regulars for highly rated. Will be a tough one to convince him but pinnick and peseiro should give it a try

And it's all over...

FT: Nottingham Forest 1-0 West Ham Utd

And the former European Champs have bagged their first 3 pts of 22/23 season.

Taiwo Awoniyi the hero, Dean Henderson the second hero. cool

Add Dennis, Aouar, Kouyate and I read rumors of Djibril Sow (from Frankfurt) and the Forest could have the finest flowers again. wink

Seen/read my summarised report on him for yesterday's game? Lad had a solid performance playing as the Sweeper in Atalanta's back 3. Fine quality young lad.

Congrats to Awoniyi match winner. Still have my concerns about how the season will pan out but I wish him all the best.

yes I saw the report and watched the game as well

For his age he is well built with a lot of potentials to make it as a top centre half in europe

I doubt Italy will let him slip off their fingers but atleast the nff and the new coach should reach out to him first. Also lookman can help in that aspect

Italy may use him in the Azzuris team but I doubt he will be a regular. If he switches to us him and bassey will be the future of our centre back positions

Will be tough like you said. Maybe our scouts should start spreading there tentacles to other lesser European leagues. Maybe they can unearth a talented foreign born player.

Still for the life of me can't understand why Nigeria doesn't produce quality centre-backs. Since I've started watching the SE I can count the number of defenders on one hand that I've been impressed with.

Meanwhile.... Manchester Utd fans, your club picked De Gea over Dean Henderson you know... grin

Penalty Records in English football:

Dean Henderson - 9 penalties saved - 17 penalties faced - 53% penalty save percentage

David De Gea - 7 penalties saved - 45 penalties faced - 16% penalty save percentage

Massive save vs. Declan Rice.
