Dominate Algeria?
Are you being serious?

Let me just leave this here real quick,
Not really in relation to this game but a 2 man midfield has no place in modern football....for A 4-4-2 formation to work we have to get the perfect midfield combo which I fear we currently lack with the personel available right now. I think we'd be better off with a 3 man midfield going forward

It is a friendly match! As a player who has a game this weekend, why should you run yourself aground over a friendly game away from home? It does not make sense! Mid-block is better.
It is from friendlies that you master such acts and not in main matches.

A lot of work to be done on the team. We are not competing on the air and we lack coordination and composure in the final third. The players need to understand themselves better and we would start flying. Our positive attacking patterns is a plus, the defense bar the mistakes looked more solid than I’ve seen in years. Considering the bad officiating which was wrong on the call for the foul against bassey we would have gotten a point from this game. Overall encouraging signs.

Not interested in winning but how we set up and work as a team. We created chances which is good but did not press together which would unsettle teams

Of course, we should have won despite playing without most of our first team players if not for bad officiating and poor goal keeping. Algeria has no real chance at goal. In fact, we had more shots at goal. So rest!. The boys did well

comodo:

Only Onyeka doing the marking is all wrong. Nacho and Simon have since disappeared in the match. I have expected a switch to 4:3;3 since to put more bodies in the MF.
joes should dump this is 442 formation

It makes the midfield lean. That formation is outdated

This is not even our first team. So. Mid-block was a good option today. We should have won.

In the end....

Italy and Spain Qualified for the second consecutive tournament.

The Netherlands qualified for their second after their last appeareance in 2018,

And Croatia qualifying for the first time ever.

If they aren't drawn together for the semis,
i sense a Netherlands vs Croatia final in 2023.

If Peseiro doesn't take care, he will be sacked quicker than he expects... previous NFF administration before Pinnick were notorious for sacking coaches anyhow..Na Pinnick come in to break the tradition by allowing Rohr 5 years...

4-4-2 is an outdated formation... It used to reign in the days, but those days are over.. a 2 man midfield in a 4-4-2 will have your midfield overrun and your players positionally exposed...

He should look for new goalkeoers... Uzoho and Okoye cost us the AFCON and world cup ticket..they have obviously not changed at all

If we continue with this 4-4-2, it will affect Iwobi... His energy is needed now more than ever in a offensive role... Creating chances for the forward... In a 4-4-2 he could be playing as a box to box midfielder...
